Kiper released his first mock yesterday and has the Vikings taking CB Benjamin Morrison. Interestingly, in his position rankings, he has Shavon Revel ranked ahead of both Morrison and Barron. Revel tore his ACL in September. He should be fine by training camp, but he's probably going to miss the combine, pro days and OTAs. Revel is intriguing, but do the Vikings want two corners returning from ACLs?

24. Minnesota Vikings
Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

Minnesota has big-time cornerback questions. All three starters -- Stephon Gilmore, Shaquill Griffin and slot guy Byron Murphy Jr . -- are free agents, along with backup Fabian Moreau . So, even though the Vikings led the NFL in interceptions by quite a bit (24, five more than second best), they might have to restock their CB room in the draft. Morrison missed all but six games in 2024 with a hip injury, but he's a top-tier cover man. He has sound technique, and he has the ball skills to keep Minnesota's INT total high. Morrison had nine picks and 21 pass breakups over his career.

Hard to see us taking a safety in the 1st, but Emmanwori would be like a bionic Metellus.

I prefer to think of him as a big nickel. I’ve got to think BFlo would love a chess piece like this.

Eagles are releasing Darrius Slay as a post June 1st cut. Might be a good fit in Minnesota

Might be the type of FA we target.

I think Rodgers would be a terrific low-cost addition at CB, but I think with the Eagles losing both Bradberry and Slay, he's probably going to re-sign with them.

Things that are super deep: The Marianas trench and the Eagles cornerback room.

I would've said Franz Kafka, but yeah. There was a lot of synergy happening on that team. Mitchell, DeJean, Slay in the secondary with Milton Williams and Jalen Carter on the line? Jesus. You could put Raonall Smith at linebacker and he'd make the Pro Bowl. But they have really good linebackers too.

I think any time you let one of your own free agents hit the market, your chances of keeping him drop considerably. Somebody's going to overpay for all those INTs and the Vikings are going to turn their attention elsewhere. I could be wrong, but I think there are upgrades on the market that will not cost as much as Murphy.

DJ Reed's coverage grade, for example, has averaged in the high 70s the last 6 seasons. Murphy's coverage grade has averaged in the mid-60s. Reed's estimated market value is $14.7M, while Murphy's is $22M. I doubt that Murphy number is even close to accurate, but that's kinda what I'm talking about.

I don’t know how accurate these contract projections are, but this is way light.

I’m intrigued as to why Murphy is projected to get more than anyone else. Probably written by a packer fan.

Picks and a Pro Bowl. He's a good corner, but he's not $22M good, not even close. I think he's $14M good. I think he gets about $18M.
