Head coaching hirings
Lions OC Ben Johnson hired by the Bears.
That didn't take long.
It'll be interesting to see if Meathead Dan Campbell and his dirty pride of Lions are any good without his top two coordinators (assuming Aaron Glenn gets a HC spot).
I could see Detroit taking a step back from their NFC dominance if those two leave.

Yah, that's a major question for them...
I remember losing Shurmur and that set the team back.
Lions have outstanding personnel, someone will inherit a talented group.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
On the flip side with the roster talent Detroit's assembled, they'll probably have their choice of coaches wanting those coordinator jobs.

Yup, the major issue with the Head Coach not being the offensive coordinator. Any successful coordinator gets hired elsewhere and the offense has to start over.
That was the biggest failure in the Zimmer era IMO. It really saps the continuity. Glad we have KOC if for only that reason.

Yeah, I don't think there's much room for the defensive only minded HC that fully outsources the offense to the OC. I think at this point you can be offensive only, or cover both.

Hopefully owners will realize this and we can keep Flores.

The New York Jets are making a push to land Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn today. He’s set to visit the team, and they’re hoping to make it happen. But keep an eye on the New Orleans Saints who also have interest in Glenn. A lot of moving pieces…

Is Flores under contract for next year? I know if he gets a HC job he's gone but what if he doesn't?
Looks like Josh McDaniels is back with the Patriots as Vrabel's OC
The #Cowboys are expected to interview their own OC Brian Schottenheimer for their vacant head coaching job, per me and @SlaterNFL.

Well-respected in the building, Schottenheimer has been an OC for more than a decade. Intriguing option to take the next step. pic.twitter.com/1Kz3txHFZL
The Patriots are targeting #Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams to be their new defensive coordinator under Mike Vrabel, sources tell @CBSSports/@247Sports.

Before Detroit, Williams was Vrabel’s defensive line coach and assistant head coach with the #Titans.… pic.twitter.com/S4COXljc9R
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. — Robin Williams

Its hard not to like Meathead Campbell. I think his players are all bought in. Of course I liked Tice as well…
Now I have a big issue with Kirby Joseph and some of the other shite, if I see any more of that crap I will know Meathead is complicit
Ahhhh....The season of hope and promise will be here soon.
I will say early on, I like what the Bears/Pats have done to try and cocoon their young QB's with a better surround.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Looks like Aaron Glenn is going to be announced soon as the HC of the NY Jets.

GL to him there...
I see the Jags GM (Baalke) was let go - a bit too late if they wanted one of the tier1 guys.
They should grab Saleh while they can/if they can. I think the Jet made a mistake kicking him to the curb.

Full statement from #Jaguars owner Shad Khan: Following several discussions with Trent Baalke this week, we both arrived at the conclusion that it is in our mutual best interests to respectfully separate, effective immediately. Trent leaves us with my deepest appreciation for…

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 22, 2025I heard this morning that Saleh was pretty much their only candidate, so you may be right.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

There were candidates who wouldn't meet to interview, I suspect it was due to Baalke?

Talk softly but carry a big stick. I watched just a minute of his presser, a little bit off via Adam Gase vibe.
Ammo here...
“To be quite frank with you, I kinda enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.”

Johnson is now smack in the middle of the grand-daddy of all NFL rivalries: GB vs CHI
He's working to get that moribund fan-base excited.
