The last Minnesota team to make a finals was the Twins in 1991.

The North Stars made it in 1990.

The Viking did it in 1976.

The Timberwolves never made it.

Don't count out the world champs just yet! But they played like dogshit the other night. I'm OK if the Wolves win this. Be good for Minnesota and fun to see which Viking players show up at the home games down the stretch.

Either way, nobody gonna beat that team in Boston.  :-)

What a game. Jamal Murray is a punk though.

I had not seen this video clip of that heating pad(?) being flung at the feet of KAT.
He at least got a $100,000 fine (no suspension).

Fine of $100,000 is nothing, its like $100 to the normal working person.  He should have been suspended along with the coach after Malone stormed the court to confront the refs.

One other point to be made is the bullshit Glen Taylor is doing by trying to void the sales contract now that the team is winning.  Lore and Rodriguez may not be the answer but it's past time for Taylor to sell.  Just glad he was never successful in his attempt to buy the Vikings.

Murray and the Nuggets got off easy, too easy. If a fan threw that on the court he would be in jail.

Rudy Gobert got fined $100K for making the "money" sign at a ref earlier this season. Murray started with the money sign while on the court, then from the bench threw a towel, and when that didn't reach the court threw the heat pack right into where multiple players could have stepped on it. For all that, he got $100K.

It's obvious as hell that the league didn't suspend Murray because they know Denver has no chance in game 3 without him. With Steph, LeBron, Giannis, and Embiid already knocked out, the NBA is in full-on "Save The Nuggets" mode.

thats where my head is at...

I'm happy for the wolves fans (I'm not an NBA fan) but so much talk about this series being done...If they win Friday I may concede its over for Denver. Still gotta play the game.

Mine is such a cautious, MN sports fan response lol

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

That fine is complete and utter horseshit. He threw a heat pack, a towel and made the money sign. Have to give credit to the Wolves suffocating defense for frustrating Jokic, Murray and MPJ. Also without Rudy Gobert. Naz, NAW and Jaden McDaniels came up big. Kudos to ANT and KAT.

And we are reminded that the Timberwolves are a Minnesota team, again.

True. A team from any other state would've won this in 4.

That sarcasm is so understated that most won't get the joke. ;)

NBA playoffs are very zig-zaggy, I never read too much into any one game good or bad. The fact I'm even paying attention when I usually don't care is a testament to the fun that Ant brings us spectators.

Good luck tonight....I know Wolves fans will be gripping!

Tonight is a really big game for both teams...

3/1 Wolves is a lot different than 2/2 going back to Denver.

So what gives NBA viewers? Why has this series been lopsided wins back and forth?

Man, the Wolves absolutely destroyed the Nuggets. I was actually rooting for the Wolves to take this to a game 7. Should be fun to watch. If the final is the Celtics vs either the Nuggets or Wolves, I will be a happy man.

The games have been downright awful in that regard...Not good watching for sure.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I think if NFL teams could play a best of 7 series for each, you'd get similar results. Not necessarily the lopsided wins, but good teams wouldn't necessarily win 4 straight against lesser teams. In the NFL we tend to assume that the winner was, is and will always be the better team. I don't think that's true at all. I think it just means they were the better team that day. ...if that makes any sense.

100% agree with this...

There would be a Lombardi @ Eagan today if the NFL were best of 5 or 7.

For sure the Vikings would have won vs at least the Steelers in a best of sb series.

I suspect 98 might have been able to beat the Bronco's too.
