Vikings will have to hit on QB to keep up in NFCN
Caleb Williams to the Bears.....Jordan Love in Green Bay.....Jared Goff in Detroit is only 29 years old, in his prime for another 5+ years. Vikings not only need a rookie QB, they have to hit on it. I keep reading from some lazy national sports people that Caleb is going into a 'bad' situation in Chicago....don't agree. The team is not devoid of talent. What Eberflus will be remains to be seen but I don't think he's garbage.

Yep, the Vikes went from having the best QB in the NFCN to the worst. Will the upcoming draft change that? Stay tuned...
After Vikings got fleeced by the Cowboys on the Herschel Walker trade, Jimmy Johnson said the key was not just getting all of the picks, but the key was hitting on most of those picks.
The Vikings have to start drafting better if we want to get out of the middle of the pack. If KAM can hit on a few picks, particularly at QB, combined with the cap space we should have starting next year, we could be at the start of something. If he misses, I expect continued mediocrity at best.

If Minnesota can hit next month on a QB, the NFCN could be the hot division in the NFL. Exciting teams, new QB stars and a productive guy in Goff. Decent HCs. Fan bases that are loyal to their teams.
Yup, we're staring right at the QB abyss today. Say what you want about Kirko, but he did bring a "stability" to the position for 6 seasons.

No doubt. I think I heard somewhere "it's all about the QB" and right now, even though I'm pretty confident that Darnold will have the best year of his career, he's not near the level of the other QBs in the division. We have to get lucky in the draft.

Chicago is a GREAT situation for Williams to go into, especially compared to what typically awaits the #1 pick (Bryce Young’s cast in Carolina… lol).
Keenan Allen and DJ Moore are great. Kmet and Swift are solid enough. Their o-line is fine. And they’ll add more pieces in the draft, as early as #9 overall. Those are above average pieces to work with not usually befitting the team selecting first overall. That Panthers trade might set them up for the next 10 years.
If CW can play the Bears will be markedly better next year and they won 7 games just this past year.
As for the Vikings- yep. We need to hit on a QB to turn this ship in the right direction. Every one of is hopes it happens.

Detroit was a heartbeat from the Superbowl last year and Green Bay looked good in the playoffs, so yeah.....if Minnesota can win the NFCN, its a great place to start. We aren't talking the AFC or NFC South here. If we 'keep up' with the rest of the top of the division, we'll be in great territory.

Very true the Vikings need a change in culture and player development. It's almost hard to believe this franchise has only had back to back winning seasons once ('08 and '09) since 2000. Seems like if a good season happened, something would derail them for the next season or two.

It's because we've never had a young franchise QB to build around outside of five seasons with Culpepper (rookie season and injury season don't count). We've constantly taken on reclamation projects, older veterans, or low end rookies at the position that haven't panned out long term and we are hitting reset every few seasons at the position. If you want to look at uneven discrepancies on our record through our history and mediocre results, there's the answer..
