Hockenson hasn't had surgery yet

He'll play maybe 8 games next year.....maybe. 

I thought they operated immediately before the swelling these days?

Well, lets hope the Vikings dont have to trot out a rook QB game 1 next season...

Hock got his surgery today.

Could miss the month of September according to some reports.  Kirk is supposedly on track to be back on time (agent??) but what are the odds that either of them come back 100% from the get go?  

I have not researched the division but we know the Packers are the youngest roster in the NFL.  The Bears and Lions are pretty darn young and talented as well.  Lions showed youth yesterday but they look loaded and pointed in the right direction. 

We feel like a team that peaked a few years ago and are now hanging on to the glory days (which weren't that glorious other than the Miracle followed by the Philly debacle) with an aging roster where injuries start to build-up.  

The 2 year competitive rebuild has not worked.  Time for change.

This team is like an old farm house.  you like the house,  its served your family well for multiple generations,  you have a lot of emotional attachment and great memories in that house,  so instead of building a new house you choose to remodel.  after a few years you look around as you are still in the middle of that remodel,  some things are new and shiny,  some things are old, cracked and leaky,   you want to keep going on the remodel,  but your funds are running short and so is your desire to keep fighting that battle.  At some point you look at all you've spent on the remodel and realized you have as much into that old house as you would have if you had just built new,  and you have burned nearly a decade of your life dealing with issues you werent even aware of when you started the remodel because they were hidden in the  walls.  In the meantime,  the cost of construction has gone up significantly,  and unfortunately you have more invested in your remodel than what your current home is even valued at.  The more you stick into the old one,  the harder it is to pull the plug and start over,  but in the long run you likely are better served by ripping the bandaid off quickly and completely,  and starting over with a new solid, square, level foundation and take advantage of modern building techniques and materials.

He also injured his MCL on that hit by Joseph (I propose that everyone whose last name is Joseph be expelled from the NFL). So that complication may have dictated an extended delay in the ACL surgery.
