Detroit will Detroit tonight

I dunno man, The Vikings fan in me ain't feeling all warm and fuzzy.
No way to sugar coat this. We are sooo screwed. It used to be the 49ers, Seahawks, Eagles and sometimes Bucs, Rams and Packers we had to contend with in the NFC. Now we are battling for third at best in our division and its not going to end any time soonTop-100 picks in 2024 draft:
Packers: 5
Lions:4 \
Bears:3 (including Nos. 1 and 9 overall)Vikings: 2
Effective cap space, per OTC:
Lions: $46M
Bears: $36.4M
Vikings: $21.5M
Packers: -$3.5M
For the fairy dusters that can't see the big picture.
And for those wallowing in gloom and self-pity, both Goff and Love are going to get new contracts after the season, so they'll soon be sitting at the big kids table with the rest of us.And I'm not sure how valid those cap numbers are. I've seen 21M, 37M, 43M and 56M for the Vikings. Either way, ALL of the Viking numbers include a $19M 5th year hit for Jefferson, which will at minimum be cut in half, a $19M hit for the hitman, which will drop to $7M dead with a June 1 release, and a $22M hit for O'Neill which we likely won't be paying (restructure). Vikings have plenty of cap space to contend in 2024 if they choose to.
Yah, that 21.5 looks a mite lite vs what I have seen.Last OTC I saw had the Vikings about middle of the pack capwise.
Easy to increase that substantially as you point out - if they choose to do so.

Goff makes Cousins look like Lamar Jackson.

I've seen us on Spotrack listed at about 40 million cap space.

Lol what are ya'll even talking about? Goff's numbers were virtually the same as Cousins last year, and this year he was 2nd in passing yards and 4th in passing touchdowns for a Lions team that won the division. If he makes any of you look like Lamar Jackson...maybe pass your numbers along to Kwesi as we have a need at quarterback

I think he was talking about mobility.
Higbee tore his ACL on the hit from Joseph and will now be lost for most of, if not all of next season. Joseph on social media trying to say he isn't a dirty player and "he's praying for his family and wishes no ill-will." Fuck you buddy. As much as I wouldn't mind seeing the Lions continue to advance, Joseph makes them difficult to root for.

Total collapse. Lions are pulling the most Vikings game ever
Well, I may be just another grumpy Vikings fan (cue the Eastwood "get off my lawn" pic), but I couldn't be less interested in watching a Super Bowl and it's mostly because I'm tired of the same fucking teams being good every year while the Vikings are once again at home. Just once, I'd love one morsal of the success teams like the 49ers and Chiefs have had. It's rough being a Vikings fan this time of year and it gets rougher every year..
At least if the Lions had won it would have made it a watchable game for me.
Chiefs will win the SB pretty easily IMO. Lions became the Vikings in the 2nd half.
@"Vikergirl" said:I don't really get this, are we laughing cause the Lions lost? They were the best team down the stretch last year and really should have made the playoffs and then came back and won the division and had a 17 point lead in the NFC championship game to the #1 see on the road, their inexperience ended up hurting them, but I give them a lot of credit for an amazing season and coming so close to the Super Bowl, something we have not done in some time, we have been sitting home for weeks, so nothing to laugh at on this end. Pretty disappointing to see all the bashing on a team that in our division that had a well deserved great year.
@"JR44" said:Oh give me a break with the self-righteousness. React however you want. They had a great season but they are still in the division. I am not one of those people that are cheering for other teams in the division. They choked in the game when it came down to it. Dan Campbell took the possible victory away from them. Feel bad if you want. And I know that the Vikings have their own issues obviously. We'll see how the Lions respond to the loss next year. Minnesota nice has left the building@"Vikergirl" said: I don't really get this, are we laughing cause the Lions lost? Dan Campbell loves to gamble. But his team started to run cold and he kept it up like always and it bit him in the ass. As Dirty Harry (who worked in San Francisco) famously said, "A man's got to know his limitations."

They should have won that game, but what this game showed me is that there are no juggernauts in the NFC. Dan Campbell trying to be the tough guy 24/7 came back to bite his ass.
CJ Gardener Johnson was waving goodbye to Niners fans early in the 1st half

Not me. Love seeing the NFCN lose and choke. Twice on Sunday.
This narrative that other NFCN fans should be 'rooting' for Detroit, fuck that shit.
