I wasnt going to miss the game either way, but definitely will give me something to look forward to. Good Luck kid!

Hall Systems Go! :p
What's the worst that could happen?
We lose (again).
What's the best that can happen?
We find out whether or not Jaren Hall has real potential as an NFL starter.
We find out now if Jaren Hall is a bust (rather than wonder) going into the offseason.
We ascertain whether we need to burn an early round pick on another QB (Bo Nix?)
Jaren Hall proves that he can back up Cousins for a year or two (or he flushes himself out).
I think this is the right move.
And I think this means that Mullens is gone as a backup and so is Dobbs.
Found some stats on turnovers. As of today, Trevor Lawrence and Sam Howell lead the NFL with 19 total turnovers in 15 games played.
Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts are tied for third with 18 total turnovers each.
Dobbs has 17 in 13 games played, followed by Mahomes with 16 in 15 games.
But if you added all the QBs for the Vikings together:
Cousins: 9 in eight games (plus 7 fumbles, four lost in 8 games)
Mullens: 6 in two games (plus 2 fumbles, none lost in two games)
Dobbs: 17 total, but 6 with Vikings (to go along with 6 fumbles, 3 lost in 5 games)
So all of our QBs combined have turned the ball over 28 times it appears.
Hall is the only Vikings QB who has not turned the ball over this season.

I just hope the "don't turn the ball over" mantra hasn't been engraved into his head so much that he plays scared to make throws. Not having some of our best weapons in the passing game could compound that, but hey, happy he is getting an opportunity

This upcoming game is a good one for him to start especially with the defense having little tape on him, next week may be more similar to a preseason game where Detroit rest many of its starters.Hall is the only Vikings QB who has not turned the ball over this season.
As for turnovers, thankfully he didn't turn it over in those two series he was in.
I'll be rooting for him and I hope he either turns out to be a future Vikings full time starter, a very good backup, or a player who could potentially be traded for a good draft pick. Either way I don't plan on getting overly excited, or upset, until I've watched several games of him in action. Hopefully, he takes advantage of his opportunities and goes out there and kicks some butt.
It's too bad the team has so many injuries now. It's going to be an uphill battle but win or lose, the Vikings will have clarity at the QB position in the off season.

I suspect clarity won't come this offseason. No matter what direction they take, there will be a lot of lingering questions.
I'm just looking for a serviceable backup going into next year. Might as well figure out if we're starting from scratch.

If he doesnt implode, then slap ourselves on the back and lets figure out QB 1 in the offseason . If he plays like he did in his first start the whole game lets plan the parade.
Could've happened to weeks ago and didn't.
Should have been Hall the last 2 weeks, but coaches will not start a rookie over a vet in a playoff race until the vet proves himself to be complete crap. The rook cannot win the job, the vet must lose it. Which is just what Mullens did.
At least the last 2 weeks are a win either way. If Hall balls, great! If he stinks, our draft pick improves.
The Green Bay Packers will face another rookie quarterback when they travel to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Vikings in a must-win primetime game on Sunday night.
The Packers have been shredded by rookie Tommy DeVito, veteran Baker Mayfield and rookie Byrce Young in the last three games. DeVito and Mayfield were both named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after facing the Packers, and Young set career highs in passing yards, passer rating and points scored last Sunday vs. the Packers.
Hall will face a struggling Packers defense that won't have cornerback Jaire Alexander, who was suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team. The Vikings offense will be without Hockenson, who suffered a season-ending injury last week.

Shredded? DeVito threw for 158 yards in that game. He threw a bunch of dump passes.

Super excited to see Hall run this offense. Nationally televised, Packers/Vikings, playoffs on the line, mad, drunken NYE atmosphere. No pressure kid. But I think he's going to surprise some people.
But even if he lights it up for 60, can we all agree now that this does not mean we don't need to draft a QB?

I agree...
24 is the year the Vikings could be in top 10 drafting and have a real shot at #2 or #3 on their qb rankings
