So we ALL know now where we stand at QB??
We have a pile of hot garbage without Cousins. No more 'Dobbs can be the guy' horseshit. So Kirk and his agent can decide how they want to approach resigning with Minnesota, because the situation keeps getting better and better for them. I firmly believe that the Vikings definitely will NOT go for any contract longer than 2 years, but Kirk is going to have to be reasonable. Clean house on all the current QBs on the roster (keep Hall) and draft the QBOTF.
p.s. still irritated on the Dobbs throw that exposed JJ to that ferocious hit and injury. NO WAY Cousins would have laid him out like that.

They are the only ones that know where he is at right now. He is a 5th round pick and won't see playing unless they are eliminated and even then maybe not depending on how some of the other variables play out. I guess there is some slim hope, optimistic view or entertainment value because he is not a known commodity to fans. He is something tantalizing to cling to against the ugly, barren reality of this season. 3 games left on the roller coaster I think that's the thing though because WE DO know what Dobbs and Mullens are, and that's backup quality fodder with a penchant for turning the ball over and limited skill sets. Dobbs flashed in limited action against Atlanta. Unless he's just a Kellen Mond level bust but I don't think that's the case.I know we are trying to back into the playoffs for another one and done, but to me the most important thing left to this incredibly frustrating season is to just see what we have in Hall. Nothing else really matters.
Agree totally with Supa. Moreover, no matter how mush you see in practice, you just don't know how the player will react in actual game action. Some players wilt, others blossom. We all no what the conclusion is to this season (just not the exact when), why not start the building for next season now?
Can you imagine what that would say to the team? Players, coaches, staff, families...all working their asses off, scratching and clawing to make the playoffs? What does it say to players like JJ and Hunter? Players and coaches don't think long term like fans do. Fans are in it for life; players may not even be on the team next year.So as long as the Vikings are still alive, they will play the QB they think gives them the best chance to win. Maybe at some point Mullens melts down and that QB is Hall. But for now at least it's Nick Mullens.
Hey, I'd love to see Hall. But I'm just an idiot fan sitting on his ass watching a team I think will likely not get far in the playoffs. There are no consequences for me. I can guarantee you no one on the team thinks that way.
Sometimes leadership means making the unpopular decision for the future good. But, hell, let's keep rolling with a QB who threw an interception to a DT lying on the ground.

lol, God that sucked. I'm like only the Vikings.
26 of 33 2td’s 2 very costly pics check out some of the other QB stats from this week. Our pass pro was pretty stellar also.
Browning and Higgins beat us bottom line

That was stupid. But not nearly as stupid as the 15-yard drop back and throw a prayer to Addison on 1st and goal at the one, after already throwing two red zone picks. I said it before, but I think that was the single-most boneheaded play of the year.Still, he threw for over 300 yards and moved the ball up and down the field better than anyone since Cousins. I don't think KOC gives a shit about what's "popular." Starting Mullens against Detroit is the right decision.
Now, that doesn't mean it will continue to be. They moved Hall to QB2 for a reason. If Mullens struggles, we may get to see the kid. I kinda hope so. But again, it won't be because we're tanking. It will be because KOC genuinely believes he gives us a better chance to win.
Not to excuse the LAP PICK but Mullens was in a tough spot in the sense we had no time outs, that was 3rd down and the clock was ticking down (30 second left).
He freaked out and made a terrible pass but I doubt under different circumstances he makes such a dumb play. Just take the sack.
The 2nd TD pass to Addison, I have no understanding why we would call that play considering we could have drawn the clock down and take the lead. 3:50 on the clock, if it takes (3) runs to get in, you can get the clock down to 2 minutes.
That's the part that KOC is working with, the 300 yards and moving the ball. That is why Mullens is starting. Both bonehead plays aside, Jefferson and Addison are very important as well as Hockenson.

But I don't have a huge problem with the decision to pass, given our short yardage struggles. Mix it up, stay aggressive. It was meant to be a 3-step drop and fire. And at the bottom of his drop, Addison was open for a TD if Mullens throws it hard and on time. But instead of throwing it, he rolls right, drops all the way back to the 15 and then throws to a NOT open Addison across his body. He got LUCKY. Mullens is a 7-year veteran. He should not be making mistakes like that.He freaked out and made a terrible pass but I doubt under different circumstances he makes such a dumb play. Just take the sack.

Viking stating QB situation now and in future:
Mullens - a No
Dobbs - a No
Hall - who knows but I would like to find out now. Maybe he plays great and gets us into the playoffs.
I obviously want Hall starting now. What you tell the team is that you as the coach think he gives us the best chance to win and make the playoffs. It is possible.

When it becomes clear that he's a better option than Mullens--and that certainly is possible--it will happen.
Dream 2024 depth chart: Kirk Cousins, Jayden Daniels, Jaren Hall.

That would be wonderful, but you'd have to make a move with the Bears or Panthers for that one...I've given-up on that.

While I think it's possible Daniels goes number one, most observers still think he's the 3rd QB in this draft. Many mocks have him going to the Vikings at 21, which is just silly IMO. But I do think it's possible he goes in the 5-10 range which is achievable to us without selling the farm.

Mullens is a machine… ;)
How is everyone feeling about Mullens after one quarter against the Lions?

Jaren Hall please!!!!!

Miss the shit out of this guy:

One thing I like about Mullens is that he's not afraid to throw the ball and give his receivers a chance. That kind of boldness is why he threw for over 400. It's also why he threw 4 picks. I think in order to play like that you have to have a little bit of accuracy. He does not.

Cousins has had 6 seasons and really hasn’t accomplished really anything.
Leads the QB’s with 9 turnovers this year. Probably 2 more games and he will loose that title.
