Hall was out of the protocol and full go in practice the week prior to the Bears game.  I doubt that would be the case if his injury was more serious.

Maybe, but we have no healthy QBs with a starting caliber ceiling. Maaaaybe Hall can follow a Heineke/Browning path and be solid in a few years but the fan obsession with him has been over the top. And Mullens is Mullens.
Dobbs is the only one of the 3 who I've watched help this team win games, so he should be the guy for at least this week and longer unless it's another total meltdown.

Dobbs hasn't proven he can play within a system and win. His first two games were running around playing backyard football.

I suspect they want to see him when JJ is out there and defenses are playing them very differently than b4.

I dont have an issue with him starting - not a big one anyways. I think Mullens would have given us a better shot of winning.

Unfortunately, Mullens turns it over as much or more than Dobbs.

I get that they can't wrap their heads around playing strategically for the future, but what do people think Dobbs or Mullens are going to look like if they somehow fluke us into the playoffs and have to go try to win at Dallas or Philly or San Fran?

It's like dying to go get embarrassed and feel like shit yet again.  Can the organization ever think more than 5 minutes into the future?  It seems not.

You have three never been's in the QB room. Two are never will be's and the third hasn't played enough to know much about. Vikings could catch lightning in a bottle. It's more likely they crash and burn.
Dobbs has some Keenum like escape ability traits. But lacks job one; ball security. Consistent winning with a backup QB is rare.
Hard to be optimistic after the Bears game!

It might be a tad unreasonable and unrealistic to have starter expectations with only being on the team a few weeks. It is a roller coaster, either enjoy the ride or get off. Realistically the season was basically lost when Cousins went down. There are few exceptions where the backup takes over and does well

I don't think that's necessarily true.  How are you figuring that?

This isn’t exactly perfect since the fumbles below counts
all fumbles not just fumbles lost which I didn’t see a stat for.

Nick Mullens:

24 games, 17 games started, 1239 Snaps

23 Ints, 8 Fumbles

.025 TOs per snap

31.58 snaps per TO

Josh Dobbs:

20 games, 13 games started, 979 Snaps

13 Ints, 18 fumbles

.031 TO’s per snap

41.26 snaps per TO

But yet the team could have easily beaten Chicago and Denver. They lost both by a total of 3 points. Dobbs threw 4 INTs against the Bears. So I think that although you are right, when your starter goes out for the year, you definitely should be lowering expectations..... but the way they lost those two games still stings.

If you assume that half of all fumbles are lost:

Nick Mullens = 45.9 snaps per TO

Josh Dobbs = 44.5 snaps per TO

Those losses sucked, the INTs sucked. So did the losses at the beginning of the season but the INTs were not the only reason they lost

Have to assume they traded for Dobbs to replace Cousins as the starter.  It is probably wise to see what he can do with Jefferson in the lineup before making changes

That's true. The fumbles were major contributors too.
