Needs to be the Josh Dobbs/Ty Chandler show tonight
Minnesota's D will show up, but need some passing connections from Dobbs and feed the ball to Chandler. Need the win and to show that they can pass the football down the field moving forward, with at least a semblance of a running attack with a RB with some speed and burst.
I'm sure it will be 'interesting', as always in Vikingland.
Start Chandler. Do it because he's a better back. Do it to send a message to Mattison about fumbling. Do it for shits and giggles. Just do it.
IT'll be a slobber-knocker game and it will be close - if history serves as our crystal ball.
Couldn't be any less entertaining than Chargers v Ravens last night.

Every DC is going to play the Vikings with the mindset of making Dobbs beat them with his arm and not his legs.
IT damn near worked vs Saints and did work last week in key moments of that game.
Next move is up to KOC.
This game will come down to KOC's playcalling and if he game plans to Dobbs strengths and has designed plays to get him out of the pocket or if he is going to do what he did last week and act as if his QB is still Cousins. The difference in the game last week was forcing Dobbs to be a pocket passer which he is clearly not great at.

Mobility is just one tool, if that is all he is going to use then he wont go far in this league, he needs to be able to sit in there from time to time and make plays with his arm and not be so quick to start his scramble drill.

It looked to me like they weren't playing enough to Dobbs strengths.
OTOH, props to the Bronco's too. I had a feeling Payton (with time to prep) and was going to have a good gameplan - and he did.
If they Vikings didnt have to overcome a -3 turnover ratio? They still would have won. But woulda, coulda shoulda doesnt win games.
Keeping things simple:
Joseph- please make your kicks
Offense- please hold onto the football
Defense- please force at least one turnover
Coaching- please play Chandler lol
Team overall- if there's a fumble for the love of god would it kill someone in purple to come up with it? Probably just the deranged fan in me but I swear 80% of the fumbles by either team get recovered by the other team this year. A ball has to bounce our way one of these times, right?

the ball is just balancing things out from last year when everything bounced our way.
Don’t make the same mistakes as the Denver game. Trying to win with a running game and no deep threat. Turnovers

Give Denver credit. They have some studs (Surtain, Simmons) on that defense and really needed the ball (and calls) to bounce right to beat us. That says a lot about us.
Tonight, I think you have to try to attack with deep passing early, forcing Chicago into respecting a deep game which will open up running lanes for Chandler and Dobbs.
Chandler needs the ball. Addison needs the ball. TJ needs to be able to break from the line. If all 3 are having impacts, Dobbs will have a lot of opportunities.
IF we DO NOT GIVE THE BALL AWAY, we should hit the bye with another victory, going 6-1 without our best player who will be returning for the last 5 and playoffs.
This team can win out, and if they do, are at worst a 3# seed with at least one home game in the playoffs
Dobbs has to win the game tonight, Chicago is one of the best run defenses in the league, it likely wont matter if its Mattison or Chandler running the ball, we need to pass the Bears defense out of the box to open up a run game IMO.
The #Vikings will continue to use RB Ty Chandler in an “enhanced role” tonight against the #Bears, per @JFowlerESPN

Well, it was neither....wasn't it? Dobbs can't pass and they just refuse to give Chandler carries.
So after the bye: who does KOC start? Mullens? My guess is they will be either the #7 NFC seed or on the outside looking in on the playoff race after their Bye week. I think we'd all like to see Hall but I think KOC won't go there until they are out of the playoff race and go with Mullens. If he sticks with Dobbs after this, I'm not sure what to say. At least it appears KOC gets that much as well:
#Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell asked if they will make a change at QB after tonight's loss, “we’re going to take a look and evaluate.”

KOC is in Les Frazierville. Doesn't know what he's doing, then falls on his sword at the presser

Mullens might give us our best chance to win, but it sure would be nice to see what we have in Hall.

As long as we are in playoff contention, I think you owe it to the team to start the best QB to give this team a chance. If Mullens back is healthy, I think he makes a lot of sense. You have 2 weeks to get him ready with an offense that is suited to his skill set plus JJ.
