We aren’t tanking anymore. We have no other realistic option at QB and Cousins is playing lights out. Its time to back up the Brinks truck and get it done.

Now what lol, do you pay him anyway?  Will some other team be willing to pay big for a FA QB coming off a major injury?
If it is an achillies, I don't think you can. You know the price tag, he's 35, and he wouldn't be ready until mid-season next year at the earliest.

What will be interesting is if we roll with the rookie or do we try to trade for a veteran? Just a shitty situation all around

I know Kirk is older, but O’Neil came back with just one off season. Hurt his at the end of last year, played game one this season. Rodgers is already up walking and throwing some. Medicine has advanced so much, depends on the severity really.

I think Cousins could come back, I think he will try because I don't think he wants to go out like that

We need a running game more than anything now. I don’t want to trade assets either but a good RB would be Hall’s best friend if we’re rolling with him.

It wasnt the RBs fault they were getting smoked in the backfield,  trading for a RB would be a waste of trade material.  GBay is one of the worst run Ds in the league and we couldn't run on them for shit.

I will absolutely blow a gasket if we trade FOR someone. If anything, we should unload assets.

The Kirk era is likley over. The future Vikings started today.

Even with this recent development with Kirk, Jordan Love continues to be garbage. He's not a good QB.

He's done in purple.  They aren't going to re-up a 35 year old on rehab.

As for the season, this team wasn't in the mix for a SB regardless.  I'm fine with seeing what Hall can do.  And if he stinks then it's a better draft pick and they will be getting a QB in the next draft.

But at what price?  If he wants that top 5 money that he was likely on his way to making,   have to pass,  hes getting to old to likely sign a prove it deal,  so what do you give a 36 year old QB, coming back from a season ending injury, that was mobility challenged prior to his injury, that was having a career year,   whats that market look like?  How many years do you give him now?  How many future years do you push cap hits onto in order to make it happen?  I figured he'd be back, but this really muddied the issue imo.

I'm assuming he no longer will be able to command top money, Jimmy.  And if you can get him on a much more incentive-laden deal for 3 years, he becomes much more tenable than these fully guaranteed numbers while keeping Justing in town and all the weapons.  I don't think that was going to be possible before.  It may be now.  The main issue with Cousins before were more related to the overweighted contract, than his performance, I think.
