Kind of funny a few here had doubts about Addison
Top notch WRer. Very talented. Tough kid. Probably the most obvious thing to see is that this kid was going to be good. What's nuts is KOC had to pound the table to pick him and not have KAM trade down.
I dont think the doubts were about his game, but more his ability to stay healthy, I would like to see him play a bigger role for a few more games before I would erase those concerns, he has shown that he has trouble getting off jams at the LOS due to his smaller stature, but that can be alleviated with motion and not being on the LOS at the snap.

Easier than admitting you were wrong.
@"StickyBun" said:So you have no concerns about his durability and lack of size yet? Let him take a couple months of hits that come from a larger role in O and see if he is still as sharp? Do you not see him getting stood up at the LOS at times and not being able to get into his route on time for certain throws to be successful?@"JimmyinSD" said: I dont think the doubts were about his game, but more his ability to stay healthy, I would like to see him play a bigger role for a few more games before I would erase those concerns, he has shown that he has trouble getting off jams at the LOS due to his smaller stature, but that can be alleviated with motion and not being on the LOS at the snap. lol, of course you would. I'm not saying he won't be good, but his concerns are not erased 7 games into his rookie year with only 1 game of high production.

Let's not restart the false narrative that KOC had to beg and plead with KAM to draft Addison.

It was proven false?? Never saw that part. My bad if so. With all the shit on the 'Net, wouldn't doubt it.

You tell me....
Addison looks better than Diggs did when he was a rook. One poster here says all you need is a single "stud" player in a draft to call it a successful draft. It looks to me like Kwesi stuck gold with the Addison pick. The Vikes needed a WR to step up without JJ playing, and Addison not only did that, he damn near put the team on his back and carried them.

...or give credit for a signing like Powell who stepped up big.
I get bagging on the shit stuff, but when you conversely don't prop up the good stuff or offer backhanded compliments, then you've got an agenda and a poster gets less credible. At least IMO.

I don’t think there’s that many people doubting Addison
after the first couple games. He’s
probably always going to be a limited receiver, where his game is quick twitch
and his weakness is physicality. I don’t
think that’s really doubting him though.

I didn't have a problem with Addison per se, but wondered aloud if WR was the best choice considering all the other holes we had/have.

I'd be mad if KAM didn't listen to all offers on everyone including Jefferson. You listen. The Eagles have done a damn good job of listening the past several years and its done them all kinds of good.

He's an inch taller the Tyreek Hill and only 10 pounds lighter. He'll put muscle on these first couple years.
My issues going into the draft with Addison were the size, and he just didn't stand out on tape at SC. But it just goes to show, if you are quicker then fast and can run routes, you can be successfull in today's NFL since you don't have to worry about defenders getting handsy or getting laid out going over the middle anymore. The league is tailor made for guys like Addison and Puka Nakua.

Narratives are shifty. When Addison said let's get paid and later drove 140mph down I94 the narrative was "that idiot KAM drafted another dud!"Then when he showed he was going to be an impact player the narrative shifted to "KOC had to force that idiot KAM to draft this young superstar!"
The real narrative is (does best Gollum voice) "We hates KAM, we HATES him!!!"
WR and DL
Vikings have an exemplary history with both.
How many teams would LOVE a J.Addison on the roster right now?

Yup!I would like Powell to see more time too - maybe at the expense of KJO touches.
He's looked great! Running good routes and speed to get open deep. Size is a concern until it's not but like @AGRforever said, he'll likely get a bit sturdier over the next year or so. Early returns on look outstanding. Glad the coaches and Kirk seem to recognize he's more of a go-to guy than KJO right now. Hock and Addison should be getting the majority of the targets until Jefferson comes back, and that's exactly what happened last night.
Powell has also been a nice signing, seems to be very quick. Powell is only signed through this season but if he practices as well as he plays, that might be a guy they should try to re-sign for similar money to what he's making now before he hits free agency. I'd be happy to keep him around through next year or two as the #3 since KJO will be moving on. Powell is 28.
Anyways, #3 = yes. Awesome game, JA.

I was thinking Levis the whole time but when we passed with inside info then I was/am all good.
