A huge win over the 49ers and Minnesota is now 3-4 on the season. Very much in it. pic.twitter.com/q1rtjGp7nZ
Helluva win! Could this be the turning point? Team gains some confidence beating a good 49'ers team, get JJ back, still have the Lions (and Packers) twice... Why not?
I want that savior rookie QB as much as anyone... But, IMO we have a better chance at winning Lombardi with this team, than we do with rookie QB _______ the next few seasons...
They looked like a different team. I was joking early in the game, who kidnapped the Vikings and put these guys on the field? They actually had a smart offensive game plan that didn't try to run into the teeth of the Niners D 40 times up the gut. Kirk also played lights out, hats off to him and the D for coming up with big int's at critical times. Nice, and very unexpected win.
Did not see this coming. Keeps the Vikings alive for the playoffs, now they have to take advantage of a stretch of average teams.
Vikings are 3-2 in the NFC so their tiebreaker position right now is better than people think.
This team simply can't count on Cousins to throw for nearly 400 yards every game. While I find it amazing that this line found a way to keep him clean for an entire game, our running attack has gone into the toilet. If we can't get more balanced, we won't control the clock, and our opponents will always be in the game. We also are zero threat in short yardage on the ground which is why our red zone is pathetic. How does Cousins throw for almost 400 and we aren't scoring 30 points? I'm enjoying the win, but we have a long way to go.

Big win. If you want to nitpick somehow this win, I guess go ahead? Otherwise its a big W on prime time against a very good opponent.
Kicked ass on 3rd down efficiency this game and maybe got stopped at the goal line but still walked away with more points than Frisco.

Nice to see the fans at U.S. Bank get back into it, lots of opposing fans at the stadium both last night and against the Chiefs.

I suppose I could have waited until tomorrow to make a separate thread, but the point remains that in my opinion this type of win isn't a sustainable model for success. We simply have to find ways to create a respectable run game, and have to impose our will in in short yardage/red zone situations to become a consistent and balanced offensive threat. It would be one thing if our pass game was opening up the run game, but it's not. Being one dimensional will eventually lead to disaster. Nitpicking or tempering the euphoria...I'm a Vikes fan who's seen this movie...lol

Oh I don't trust anything yet. Far from it. But I will live week to week....and this week was a very good win against a very good team. They are crawling back into it and their upcoming schedule isn't overpowering. But it could all turn into an exploding shitpile on Sunday. Maybe they can make more of the season interesting, that's my hope.
I thought it they ended-up with an L it would definitely be because of their ineptitude in the red zone. Left a lot of points out there.
And yes, the Vikings are terrible running the ball this year - both in attempts and success at it. They knew it was an issue coming into this year and their attempt at a fix has been poor at best.
Ive also been watching enough football over the decades to know how you win week/week will look different. I'll enjoy this week in a year void of much joy - and hope they dont piss down their legs vs GB.
The 23 squad hasn't earned my trust, in the least.
How fun was this?

I honestly expected to see us put up single digits. Also, I think Akers is going to make our run game better every week. I am wondering about Ham though. Is he off doing Captain stuff? Cuz it seems like we really could use a fullback on those goal line carries.
I'll never forget this game....I won $1337 on a 3 way parlay:) and my Vikings won! Needed Addison to be the initial TD scorer, Cousins 2 TD's and KJ to have over 40 yds. KJ was stuck at 39 yards late in the 4th and then his final pass went for 8 yards....was sweating bullets. ChaChing!
Was a $25 bet with 3500 odds and a 50% profit payout.

We haven't had a 100 yd. rusher this season, and 5 games where our leading rusher was held under 50 yds. That's just silly bad. It's not just bad RB's. These guys are getting swarmed in the backfield on a regular basis. There is no push or lanes created from this line.
