On that note, here are the 10 ugliest grades from the Vikings' loss to the Chargers (minimum of 20 snaps played).

  1. Byron Murphy Jr., CB - 41.1
  2. Dean Lowry, DE - 47.6
  3. D.J. Wonnum, OLB - 49.7
  4. Pat Jones II, OLB - 50.4
  5. Harrison Phillips, DT - 57.8
  6. T.J. Hockenson, TE - 54.5
  7. K.J. Osborn, WR - 58.8
  8. Christian Darrisaw, LT - 61.1
  9. Jordan Addison, WR - 61.2
  10. Brian O'Neill, RT - 61.6
PFF charged Murphy for 10 catches and 185 yards allowed, including the trick play touchdown pass from Keenan Allen to Mike Williams.
Lowry played 31 snaps and literally did nothing. He generated zero pressures and was only credited with one assisted tackle.
Wonnum and Jones are the reasons head coach Kevin O'Connell is desperate to see what the defense can do with a healthy Marcus Davenport (ankle) healthy. Wonnum played 59 snaps and generated three pressures and one tackle. Jones played 32 snaps and generated one pressure.
Wonnum, Jones and Phillips combined to rush the passer 106 times and they created just seven total pressures. Their respective pass rush win rates were lousy: Phillips (5.9%), Wonnum (3.4%) and Jones (1.9%).

Murphy was clearly hobbled out there. No idea why they didn't pull him after Allen's, oh say....12th catch. I guess they really have zero faith in Booth. Pathetic

Also Phillips isn't a pass rusher and we knew that when we signed him. He's probably not even a starter and just a rotation guy like the rest of the guys on our line. Jones and Wonnum aren't 3-4 OLB's. So their lack of pass rush success in this scheme isn't a surprise. I suspect it will be the same with Davenport if/when he ever gets on the field.

Poor signings and poor fits for the scheme we are trying to run...but hey, competitive rebuild!

At first glance, it looks like Ingram had a good day. Cant be having that. His run blocking was 91.1. Nice. His pass blocking was 47.9. Good thing we aren't a passing team.

These PFF grades are always a little funky. The thing with Ingram is he's actually a pretty powerful guy. He can lay dudes out. When he's moving forward, watch out....he'll pummel someone. He actually had some one on one stalemates with Jalen Carter in Philly. But he's just very inconsistent and will still make mental mistakes.

Part of me gets why the team is sticking with him, he can be an ass kicker. But man he also can be a real liability.

Yes consistency in pass pro is his biggest problem. His run blocking against the Chargers was elite. It would be great if we could play Risner situationally on pass plays without tipping our hand, but I don't know how you do that.

Ingram does seem to be getting more aggressive...

I even read an article recently that the Bears may decide to move on from Fields.  What a disaster that franchise has become.
