Vikings Chargers
Looks like the over/under is around 80 :)
Ranking All 32 NFL Defenses From WORST To FIRST After Week 2 (msn.com)
32. Los Angeles ChargersVery little has gone right thus far for Brandon Staley and the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. LA has fallen into an 0-2 hole in a very competitive AFC West and its bottom-tier defense is a huge reason why. The Chargers are allowing an astronomical 438.5 yards per game through two games.
27. Minnesota Vikings
Don't worry folks! Competitive rebuild going on...nothing to see here.
@"AGRforever" said:@"JimmyinSD" said:@"AGRforever" said: Kirk wasn’t the problem. Any time he had +0.5 seconds he was fine. Looking forward to Risner starting next week. That Jefferson injury didn’t look like cramps. It looked like an ACL.
I guess you could atempt a Jets trade with Kirko. Not sure what you’d get to save their season. If we’re 0-3 and hypothetically JJ came back on the field with adrenaline only??? Maybe it is time lol.
Yes he was, stareing down receivers, lazy in the pocket, poor ball placement, no recognition of game situation...he is most definitely part of the problem. Not solely his to bear, but at his position, his tenure, and his pay, very much a big part of this loss.
At this point it hardly matters. Kirk wont be here next year. He’s sick of getting his ass kicked, and someone will give him Kirko money. So we’re starting over. Hopefully, we don’t win just to many to land in the low teens. We need a top 5 pick.
If he was truly tired he would have retired or learned to move his feet and look off defenders more often, he is regressing as a QB. My armchair assessment is the better the talent he has to work with, the worse he is. He is not a bad passer at all, and he has game, but he has a shit load of talent and is looking like a rookie QB far to often.I hate to bag on him so often, I know it's a damn demanding position and he is a fucking great person, but for shits sake, hes a damn high paid veteran and the shit I saw today when the needed leadership made me think of a rookie QB.

What I fault the front office with most is their drafting. That said, they really did need to spend this year cleaning-up the books.
Old contracts with players past their prime and these guy aren't contributing elsewhere to-date.
I am hoping with more cap space, they'll be able to address the trenches with FA help in 24- more so than a Davenport. But that cavalry aint coming this year. They have to get better with Bradbury back and Risner getting into playing shape.
The D is what it is - not good.
@"pattersaur" said:@"purplefaithful" said: Just getting back from that debacle, getting kinda used to it being a fan over the decades.Ever since TJH fumbled that ball today, I thought they would have a tough time and they did.
I knew the D would struggle this year and they have, but I was hoping the O would bail them out more often than not - and they haven't.
They aren't playing well as a unit and I sure dont like how they moved from setting up the run with the pass to running every 1st down, more Ham and heavy sets. F*&ck that.
Yep. This year’s defense is better than last year’s. I realize that’s a very low bar to clear but through 3 games it’s true. The difference is the offense hasn’t been able to bail out the bad defense, unlike 2022. In fact I don’t think I’d even consider our offense “good” this year. I’m guessing our yards are high but points wise there haven’t been nearly enough.
The defense is better than last year, but still not good. I think Flores was the right hire, but they don't quite have the personnel to pull off his scheme yet. I like his blitzes, but the success rate is low. I have not been impressed with Evans and Murphy at corner, but the safety depth is good, Hunter has done fairly well, though was quiet today, and Pace was a great find.On offense, the OL has been bad. Injuries have not helped things and maybe with players getting healthy and Risner hopefully replacing Ingram, then things can improve there, but there is not much time for them to get the season righted and they have a couple really tough matchups with KC and the Niners coming up. The running game was better today, but Mattison is really struggling to protect the ball (nearly had 2 more fumbles today). Chandler showed some burst today, but we need to see a lot more from the ground game. They are in a great place with the receivers. Osborn had an off day, but Addison has been a really nice number 2 receiver. As for Cousins, I get frustrated with him holding onto the ball too long and he's had some times where he's forced the ball into tight windows leading to turnovers, but the OL and running game has been a bigger issue than him. I would still like to go in a different direction at QB longterm, but we don't have that on the roster currently.
I don't understand Cousins. I said it before and I will say it again; when in doubt just chuck it out there towards JJ and good things will happen most of the time.
Cant understand why cousins can not call his own plays while in last second situations. Is he incapable or is it KOC?

Good chance of being 0-5 before showdown with the worst team in league.

That was a truly moronic decision that should've cost them the game. Unfortunately, the Vikings follow it up with one of their own by not clocking the ball, taking a breath and letting the crowd noise die down.

Sure, but good for my fantasy team.

Thats cause we were all screaming to clock the F'ing ball lol!
Cousins leads the league in passing yards, Jefferson leads the league in receiving yards, Hunter leads the league in sacks. Vikings 0-3.

I believe we're at 9 now?

I don't know, but I'd be shocked if our TOs didn't lead the league. Story of our season really, followed closely by the fact that our blitzes are routinely managed by the opposition's OL.

Agree with Jimmy on this, the last sequence should all be you need to see that he lacks leadership of a veteran in that situation. I mean close to the endzone, no timeouts, and the clock is running and he is waiting for a call to come in from the coach. Total lack of situational football.
Our defense is what it is, an undertalented roster that we’re
hoping scheme will help protect. They’re
going to struggle when going against good offenses, especially QBs that are
good against the blitz and with receivers that outclass our DBs. Our team is built for our offense to outscore
the other team in relatively high scoring games, and our offense just isn’t
performing to the level that they need to.
That said, I think we saw some good things this game. Our running game was “productive” and for the
first time in forever we saw some quick passes and they worked. Hopefully, they will continue to expand on
those two areas.
Good observation here. If Mattison follows Mundt and Oliver around the left side he probably scores.
Mattison missed his read on the fumble that wasn't.
— Matt Fries (@FriesFootball) September 25, 2023
He needs to keep with the play front side and trust that his blocking will open a hole, which is does. Instead he sees juicy room for a cutback off of good blocks by O'Neill and Ingram but it's fools gold. pic.twitter.com/XxrXvdGBvf
Really hard to believe that we could not win a game that was handed to us on a silver platter with the Staley 4th down call. I guess he was let off the hook because we choked but he should be shit-canned immediately for that one.
