His father, Deion Sanders, is not too fond of the way the Vikings treated his friend and former coach, Mike Zimmer. Pioneer Press columnist Charley Walter cautioned that Deion may not want Shedeur to land with the Vikings.“The guess, though, is that the Vikings wouldn’t have the appetite for the circus atmosphere Shedeur’s father might bring along. And besides, Deion is close to Mike Zimmer, the fired Vikings coach, and that probably wouldn’t be a fit,” Walters wrote.Deion Sanders’ Tension With Vikings Involves Rick Spielman
In the aftermath of the Vikings’ ousting of general manager Rick Spielman and Zimmer, Spielman went on a media tour, throwing subtle jabs at Zimmer’s coaching staff.
Appearing on Barstool Sports’ “Pro Football Show” in January 2022, Deion stood up for Zimmer, claiming there was a divide in the Vikings’ brain trust.
“Yeah, we talked,” Sanders said of Zimmer following the end of his eight-year tenure with the Vikings. “He and their GM hadn’t spoken in months. It was just a downward spiral.”
Sanders has also used his platform several times to call out Cousins for the Vikings’ downfall — but he appears to have separated the organization from the final decisions of the Zimmer-Spielman era.

Ancient history, nonetheless “Me-ion” is a douche.

You cant tell me that if the Vikings had the first overall pick in the draft (God forbid) that Me-ion wouldnt be fluffing everyone in our FO.

Coach Clown will talk his son all the way to some organization that will ensure the kid has a wonderful 2 year pro career.

Yep. And I posted yesterday that his kid might not fly in the Midwest and now you see why: Dad. And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. So don't kid yourself into thinking this doesn't have the potential to be a powder keg wherever he gets drafted, because nothing will be his fault.

Sanders might want to remember the Vikings gave Zimmer the opportunity to be a head coach when no other team would. Zimmer was responsible for screwing that opportunity up, not the Vikings.

This is not an either/or situation.

Spielman did Zimmer dirty and forced him to coach a team
that was constructed the opposite of what he wanted.

Zimmer also was limited as a coach, always abrasive, and got
bitter, spiteful and toxic under those last few years as he watched his career
go downhill (probably as he perceived Spielman forced this on him).

Its not Walters.....but I see the OP edited and added where its from, Heavy.com. Heavy.com is one of the most idiotic sites on the Internet. It would make the National Enquirer look like a medical journal. Complete and utter clickbait garbage.

Click bait is great sometimes. Would anyone want to be part of the Deion show in Minny? It would be a disaster.

Maybe Deion should wait to see if he proves himself throughout the year to be a draft pick the Vikings would actually want.  I am going to be a huge Oregon and USC fan the next two weeks!

I'm still enjoying the disruption of conventional recruiting and coaching that Sanders has brought to Colorado and CFB in general. There's so much hypocrisy in the sport that this has been fun to watch, especially some fans and media's reactions.

Will the Prime Time Circus start to grind on me at some point? Definitely. But not there yet.

Two things: Colorado should not be ranked #19 to begin with and Oregon is in a different class and I think most people knew that but the media is so Colorado crazy right now they didn't care to acknowledge it.

Now we get to see exactly what coach clown and his son really have.  Their egos got checked like they were skating with their heads down carrying the puck.  I suspect they are only a game or two away from the wheels to really start coming off and the infighting will take over.

He may want to stay in school another year if he would want a franchise like the Vikes to even consider using a late round pick on him.

I'll say this in his defense: he's been getting sacked a TON already this year. His O-line is big, but immobile. Sanders is under almost constant pressure. I still think Shedeur is a very good NFL QB candidate. He scrambles almost always looking to pass, a very good attribute. Eyes always downfield. He'll never be the top QB selection, but he's got some interesting pro traits.
