Vikings restructure RT Brian O'Neill (msn.com)

The question is why they did this. At the time, the Vikings were reportedly negotiating with wide receiver Justin Jefferson about a new contract – only to fail to reach a deal before the new season started, with Adam Schefter reporting the plan is to resume talks after the season ends.
Another player that has been heavily linked is offensive lineman Dalton Risner, who visited the Vikings this past offseason, and whose services could be required after a tough first game for the Vikings O-line.
Matthew Coller, of Purple Insider for Bring Me The Sports, said of the cap move: "It's totally possible that it does mean something. I don't know for sure but that's a lot of space to create."

Because they just saved $14 million on the restructured deal with O'Neill.

Opens them up for anything for the trade deadline and before. I'm sure they'll see how the next 3 weeks go. Going 0-4 and you may as well tank for TQBOTF.
