Jets Fear Serious Achilles Injury For Rodgers

Bummer…
Robert Saleh on Aaron Rodgers: “It’s not good”The Jets managed to win on Monday night without Aaron Rodgers. They might have to do it again. And again. And again.
Coach Robert Saleh acknowledged after the 19-16 overtime win that Rodgers is believed to have an Achilles tendon injury. “It’s not good,” Saleh said, via Mike Garafolo of NFL Media.
Rodgers will have an MRI on Tuesday.
Typically, Achilles injuries can be diagnoses preliminarily with a manual examination. The tendon is intact, or it’s not.
Regardless, the man in charge of the team said it’s not good. It’s safe to take him at his word, especially since he seemed to suggest the MRI was more of a formality.

Looking at the Vikings schedule I'd say there's a high probability we are under .500 at that point. Soooo at what point do you consider moving Cousins and taking what you can get for him with the Jets being pretty much an ideal trade partner if they dont make a move beforehand?I have my doubts a mid season trade for a QB is likely move unless you are a serious contender and lose your starter. I have to think it would take to long to get all the verbiage down and to learn all the routes and such for a new offense. Other positions have to learn 1 position, a QB needs to learn them all for the most part. At this point I would say they are looking at what ever they would get for a comp pick when he walks if they choose to move on.
An MRI confirmed today that Aaron Rodgers officially tore his Achilles on the fourth play of his Jets’ career.

Rodgers’ season now, officially, is over. There already are questions about whether his Hall-of-Fame career is, too.

I echo the wow...
The tackle looked so routine too

Following that Favre script to a tee...

I thought I heard Jets are on the hook for $60mm in dead cap next year on him?
Early speculation is he will come back next season.
Other speculation now is the turf @ Met Life is not a good one? Should be grass on an outdoor stadium like that. Jets/Giants didnt want to pay additional $$$ for upkeep of grass.

How would it be different then the turf in half the NFL? That was just a bunch of players bitching about wanting grass. But when you host events at the frequency they do at Met Life, grass is unrealistic.
Look how pissed everyone was about the grass in Chicago last year.

Yep. Turf is amazing compared to 20 years ago.
LOL, word is Colin Kapernick still has an agent and has reached out to the Jets about their opening....
holy shit... somebody find this guy and ask him for the lottery numbers.

Packers lose out on Rodger's injury next draft. If Rodgers played 650 snaps the Pack would have had Jets first rounder so now it is their second rounder.
@"StickyBun" said:The angst and boo-hooing from the media is unreal. No sports media bias at all for teams on the coasts (eye roll).
As far as I'm concerned, the perfect outcome. Media darling Jets grounded, Pack don't get a 1st round pick. I know I'm not nice, and I don't care B)
FYI In the last 6 years the Jets have now traded 2 2nds to move up to take Sam Darnold #3. taken Zach Wilson #2, and traded 2 2nd's for 4 snaps of Aaron Rodgers (2024 decision pending). Rick Spielman looks at the Jets and says, "WTF, man?" :p

Don’t worry sports fans, Green Jesus says he will rise again…! ;) :p
@"Kentis" said: Don’t worry sports fans, Green Jesus says he will rise again…! ;) :I am guessing he tries the holistic alternative medicine approach and although he gains inner peace and a third eye, his achilles doesnt respond and his career is over, or at least he isnt anywhere near what he once was and his legacy will be a sad hollow shell of his once former self.
