KOC: We're in a pretty, pretty, pretty good spot right now
KOC: “As a team, we’re probably ahead of where I thought we’d be (at this point). That’s a credit to Flo and his staff on that side of the ball. I feel like we’re really in a good spot right now.”

I mean pretty good is much better than dog shit for the defense so I would say it's progress

Last year reminded me to take all this pre-season talk with just a grain of salt lol!~

yeah, easy to be impressed until the red jerseys come off and the early whistles swallowed
@"Zanary" said:Well yeah obviously but we are going off of the information we have at the present time. I look forward to seeing how things work out.@"Vikergirl" said: I mean pretty good is much better than dog shit for the defense so I would say it's progress Let's see how it looks in real games, but I believe that both KOC and Flores want to put the NFL on notice that our defense is real.
@"Vikergirl" said:Agreed. We all know the fluff factor, but when your HC seems pleased at where they are as a team right now, I think you can safely assume its even better than that as coaches are notoriously downplay stuff like this.@"Zanary" said:Well yeah obviously but we are going off of the information we have at the present time. I do believe Flores unlike Donatell will really try some different things. As for the results I'll take the talk with
:p
“DON’T TELL ME ABOUT THE LABOR – SHOW ME THE BABY” – QUOTE BY MIKE ZIMMER
We all know the proof is in the pudding.....but what else is there to talk about right now? Does every story from camp need a disclaimer? We know its fluff season in the NFL. I like the stories regardless of how we need to take them with a grain.
I think the scheme change alone and Flores as coach will make the defense better. Most of what I've been hearing/reading is our defense has been less predictable and more innovative much like Zimmer's defense where in the previous regime.
Now we just need to see if we have the talent to execute it fully. If the defense ends up being average across the board, I think that'll be enough of a boost to repeat as a playoff team again. Those close games from last season will hopefully be less than last year and we won't need a comeback or game winning drive to close it out.
Excited to see the team this year. I'm a big fan of Kevin O'Connell. I think we really nailed our HC pick last off-season.

Coaches will always say something positive, but it's not hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Remember the comments about Treadwell's training camp? There were no comments about how amazing or impressive he was. It was all about how hard he was working, which is pert'near a death knell.
