So much smoke out there on QBs. I think Rick did a nice job of just saying the kid is a hard worker and still had to make good throws to succeed despite an offense that isn't really pro-friendly.

When mistakes by NFL GMs still happen every single year, its hard to say where Hooker will land. When you snag a Christian Ponder or move way up for a Mitch Trubisky while Patrick Mahomes is still there, yeah any shit can go down. It just takes one NFL GM to fall in love and blow it all up.

I felt after the Ponder miss, he became risk adverse to drafting QB's in the 1st Round. His best move was trading back into the first to grab Teddy. In fairness to Rick, history has shown that several of the QB draft classes while he was GM were absolutely terrible.

Interesting his comments about Teddy as the more I see on Hooker, the more he reminds me of Teddy from a personality and leadership perspective.  I wonder where would he be ranked if it weren't for the injury and he had a great bowl game.  We do not need him to play this year, so it is an ideal situation for him.  I would rather roll the dice on him than trade for Lance, unless there is a chance of trading up for Stroud or Levis.

I like the potential of Hooker developing for a year behind Cousins. He has to learn to read the pro defenses, otherwise he seems to have everything else an NFL QB would need; providing his knee is sound.
Unfortunately, I also have to say I would disqualify him as a pick simply based on the fact Spielman likes him. Spielman is one of the worst QB analysts ever.

Just posted but our ol' GM thinks the Vikings should take TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston. Thinks cornerback would also garner heavy consideration.

I think there are some fans that don't know he's coming back off major surgery.

my concern with Hooker has nothing to do with his abilities and more to do with his age. He’s not a young guy the way it is, and with the injury he’s at least a year out from meaningful playing time. That makes it a tough call unless he drops.
