6 Games for Gambling... 

Lions lose 2 top WRs in a blink of an eye.  With picks 6 and 18 they may have to take a WR now.


The NFL already investigated the violations of the gambling policy by five players, including #Lions WR Jameson Williams, and found no evidence that any inside information was used or any NFL game compromised. All violations occurred during the 2022 season.

Sources: NFL suspended 5 players, including #Lions WR Jameson Williams, for violations of NFL gambling policy. #Lions’ CJ Moore & Quintez Cephus, plus #Commanders' Shaka Toney, are suspended indefinitely (at least 1 year). Williams & DET’s Stanley Berryhill are suspended 6 games.

Yeah, don't understand it.  But I guess taking risks is part of what gets them there.

So the guy the Lions took at our draft slot was hurt half of the year. Then when he got healthy, his own coach said he wasn't developing as he had hoped. That underdeveloped guy is now suspended for 6 games, during which he cannot practice, train or even be at the Lions facility.

Just to clarify, he can be there for preseason.

Also, he didn't bet on NFL, just bet while he was at the Lions facility.  

That being said, good luck Lions.  Another potential bust at WR.  will be 3 years in before he has a chance to play a full season.

He did not bet on the Lions' game.
He did not bet on any NFL game.
He made a bet that was otherwise perfectly fine with the NFL.
The only issue is that he made the bet from the Lions' facility.

And that merits a 6 game suspension? If he had made the bet while he was in church, or at home, or in the Capitol Building, that would have been fine. But he pressed the "Bet Now" button while he was standing (or sitting) on Lions' property. Gasp! (I'm figuratively clutching my pearls.) I wonder if he used one of the sites that partners with the NFL.

They all know the rules...he broke one. NFLPA isn't bitching about it so they're obviously good with the rule and punishment.
