Its been coming for a while, sure seems like RB position has hit the cliff the last year or 2. 

You want to grow up to be an Edge Rusher, OT, QB or WR in this league in this era.

In the 4 drafts since Saquon went #2 in the 2018 draft, no RB has gone higher than 24.

We need to cut our own high priced RB.

For salary cap purposes, a cut is not good. A trade is much better, even if it is for a 2024 7th round swap. Anything where the other team takes on Cook's contract is better than a straight cut.
