About 6-5, 300. Plays inside and out but probably best suited for 3T/5T. Former 5-star, #1 recruit in the nation, has dominated at every level. Missed games the last couple years due to injuries and the death of his 15 year old sister, but the pedigree for big success in the NFL is there. Right now consensus has him between 20 and 30. If Flores wants more inside pass rush to make his blitzes more effective, this could be the guy. Kinda reminds me of Kevin Williams. Same kind of player technically, but much more physical and aggressive.

This is funny as he just hit my radar over the last week...Much as I believe the BPA will be a DB or WR, I would have no issue adding talent to the DL.

With Z most likely gone? This years DL looks to be one of the weakest here in a long time. Its needs a talent infusion.

I think Bresee is a perfect fit for us. Inside pass rush for a team that desperately needs it. 3-4 and 4-3 flexibility. I think he would've been a top 10 pick without the ACL in 21 and the kid sister dying of brain cancer thing in 22, which is devastating to even think about.

Hoping we sign or trade for a WR so we can take that off the draft needs list. But if not, the guy that I'm quickly falling in love with is Zay Flowers. Early on I assumed he was slot-only because of his size, but I couldn't have been more wrong. He can play inside or out and is a legit deep threat. HIs routes are crisp and he's a tough little bastard. He can drop a few, but he's got some Antonio Brown in him. Some Steve Smith and Tyler Lockett. There's been some gathering buzz about him maybe being the best receiver in this class and I think I might agree.

God...corner. I haven't watched a single one yet, but I will I suppose. I just hate the idea of drafting a corner. And I'm not even sure why.

We will draft a corner.  Look at our roster.

HOWEVER....if we don't....I LOVE this pick.
(Of course it would be unnecessary if KAM went with my first 3 picks from last yr, JORDAN DAVIS DT, and then...Rog McCreary CB, George Pickens WR.....coulda happened)

Been watching ACC/SEC football for years, and this guy is a BEAST.

Going "to the mats" "slamming the table" for this pick.
My others were 2022 Jordan Davis, 2021 no-one, 2020 J-Jets, 2019 DK Metcalf)

As Ronnie said, "Whooh, whoohah wooooo....Mr Breese".

I've wanted to get on board with this kid, but I just can't do it. There's just no production, all hype, and he never built on the promise he showed as a freshman. I know he's been dinged up and the tragic passing of his sister and all that. I watched a few Clemson games this year including against Notre Dame, where Bresee was dominated and a complete non factor. I wouldn't touch him in the first round and I'm not sure he is better then Benton, Mazi Smith, or Gervon Dexter.

I mean you don't have to go back too far.  2020 and 2021 were pretty bad.

Teams sometimes put plastic caps on positions they hope to upgrade in the draft. To me there are two obvious ones. Dean Lowry at 5T and Jordan Hicks at ILB. Neither are long term answers, but both could start and not kill you if you're unable to find upgrades in the draft.

Corner is an interesting situation. Our three current starters--Murphy, Booth and Evans--have starting level pedigrees, but two of them are injury concerns and there's very little behind them. I think the team will add two more corners before OTAs. Hopefully one more in free agency and then a day-two draft pick.

The other plastic cap is KJO on WR2.

MB,

I think he has a tremendous amount of talent, but really hasn't consistently shown in on the field at Clemson. He definitely has faced a lot of adversity, but he seems like a risky pick. I do like him better than Kancey and agree with you that he can fit our scheme. I think it comes down to whether or not Flores feels he can make him into a great Pro. I also think that Smith would be a great pick for us in a trade down. A true disrupter up the middle which we haven't had in years. The kind of guy that abuses Bradbury every time we face a team with an elite Nose Tackle.

Every year I actually look for the kind of players you're describing. Players with elite level talent but were inconsistent in college for one reason or another (think Diggs, Hunter). Like those guys, I think Bresee is going to be a better player in the NFL than college.

I love Mazi Smith, but I don't think he's right for us. We need inside pass rush and he really doesn't offer much of that. Not as much as Bresee anyway. I think too many are focused on the nose when our bigger need IMO is 5T.

Mazi is a straight traits projection. Stout as can be but I think its really 50/50 if he can become a 1x1 winner as a pass rusher. The one wildcard is that in Flores schemes you could really leverage him on stunts & designed pressure packages to play up his athleticism. I like Breese a lot if the health checks out. He can play up and down the line with his hand in the ground and win consistently. Outside of health he's shown the production you're looking for.

I don't know squat about the college prospects, but would love to build from the trenches out.
