Red McCombs passed away He wat 95 years old. I think he took over the same year Randy Moss was drafted: 1998.
95 is a good run at it.
MN Governors Pawlenty and Ventura both told him to go pound sand when it came to stadium $$. IF he could have, the Vikings would have been moved to San Antonio years ago. Just like the Wilfs were ready to move the franchise to LA.
His initial deal to sell to Reggie Fowler fell through and ultimately he sold to the Wilf family. I think he bought the franchise for $200 and some million and sold it for > $600mm?
Also made millions with his auto dealerships and had ownership in the NBA too (Nuggets and Spurs).
