Anyone else been catching this yet?

Entertaining, scary, emotionally moving and very well done. This is not another tired, zombie thing.

Love it. Episode 5 was amazing.

I've played the games on PlayStation which were phenomenal in their own right. There's been some deviations from the games as one would expect in adapting stories like this but so far those changes have been well done.

I actually subscribed to HBO for this, hoping it would be another Walking Dead, which I loved...the first few seasons anyway.

I wasn't impressed with the 1st episode of Last of Us, but I don't think I was paying full attention. I'm going to give it another shot, but I think I'll wait until the season's over. These days it's either binge or nothing for me.

I want to check this out too. Interesting concept and it's up my alley.

Side note, my wife and I just started watching Poker Face on Peacock.  First episode was good, going to keep watching that one.  If you liked the movie Knives Out, it's the same guy who created this one.

I'm a documentary buff, always searching for good ones. Two latest that I really enjoyed: Recovery Boys and No Place on Earth. Also would recommend Automat.

There are plot/story twists in future episodes that are the secret sauce - stuff that has the internet talking.  I dont want to give too much away.

Watched the first episode of The Last of Us. Seems to take itself maybe a little too seriously but also looks very well-made and acted. Not sure it's "appointment TV" for me but I'll keep watching. Good start.

Also recently watched Yellowjackets (Showtime) and that was cool.

Agreed, this show is phenomenal so far.  Talk about fantastic writing, editing, and acting.  Episodes 3 and 5 were emotionally strong, you get pulled into characters in just one episode.  Bella, the young girl is doing an impressive job.

Not a big fan of any "shows" really outside of the HBO lineup The Sopranos, The Wire, Succession, Curb Your Enthusiasm, this one is just as good.

Gave this another shot...and I was wrong. I still think the Boston section where we first meet Ellie is a little hard to follow. It's like what the hell are they talking about? Am I supposed to know? I hear it's based on a video game of some kind? The dialogue almost has a game-narrative style to it. That was a bit of a turn off for me. At first.

However, in the 2nd episode it starts to pull together and you're fully invested in the characters and the adventure they're about to go on. Has that same Walking Dead/The Stand dystopian travelogue feel to it that I like so much.

On episode 4 now and I really wish I hadn't dived in. I want to watch it all now!
