Walked out of the Metrodome to see pallets of these under guard. Comparatively speaking, I've had little to complain about in my 58 years, so this might have been the worst day of my life. But it's also the last time I invested so much into a "game" I don't even play, so maybe some good came of it.

Sigh, I was there, behind the "wide left" goal posts, deck 1

The ONLY TIME I shed a tear for a football game.

I had a bad feeling about this game going into 1/2 time.

Two plays are seared into my memory;
Cunningham missing a wide open Moss streaking down the sideline
Robert Griffith dropping an interception in the end-zone

I believe both of those plays would have ended the game.

I have empathy for Bengals fans today, that play by Osai (sp) hitting Mahomes out of bounds end of game is one they wont forget.

I was there. When the Vikings went up 17-7, I turned to my buddy and said, 'We're going to the Superbowl'. I never had ever been that presumptive before with football. There were so, so many ways for Minnesota to have won that game on the Falcons last drive. Disgusting. The thing was nobody left until the game was over, so the place was crammed and I stood in the aisle waiting to get out and the Dirty Nerds were celebrating and getting the NFCC trophy right in front of me. Couldn't get out fast enough to avoid seeing it. F%^k me. Griffith dropping that gimme INT just gutted me.

"Vikings Win"?? That's what they were going with, lol. So creative.

What nobody knows (till now) is that when they tore the metrodome down, I buried a voodoo doll into that hallowed ground.

B4 the USB foundation was poured. Effectively breaking any curse from Madden, LaMar Hunt or any of the spurned AFC old guard.

It's all good now....

Seriously, what all should be buried to appease the SB and NFCCG demons?

Whiskey bottle, a rosary, 2 kicking shoes (one frozen one), Cunningham's knee, Griff's hands, a dirty horseshoe, some hijacked radio headpieces...

Darrin Nelson's hands, Favre's ankle, Jerry Burns vocabulary, an episode of That's Incredible starring Fran Tarkenton...on Beta, Herschel Walker's entire living, breathing body.

I was there for both playoff games that year, just out of university. Sad that it was the pinnacle of my fandom.
