I said it when we couldn't hit on them with AD..
Something is tipping them off.  Haven't looked for the why,  but there is something,  most likely somebody,  that is waving a flag early that its a screen.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the play. I think for some reason it's become a bit antiquated in today's game with 3-4 defenses. They might be easier to read from 4 stand up positions, and safeties might crash down on them too because they develop a little too slow. I do'n't know why backs aren't leaking just a little deeper into crossing routes similar to TE's.

Screens can be so hit or miss. I'm not a huge fan of them, but when they work, they are big splash plays so you see them on highlights. And conversely, they can be a drive destroyer.....which tends to be the case more than you'd think. Those don't make the highlights.

Agree. There's a tell somewhere. It would be one thing if they're not effective, but it's more than that. They typically result in 4 yard losses.

I would have to go back and really watch a lot of plays and focus on our OLs ability to make blocks in space,  I dont think our guys get onto LBs and DBs very well and that might be a big part of why they arent successful,  but some of those screens we've tried are just blown up by so many guys it screams that the play is getting tipped.

Like that TD by Cook in the Buffalo game.  Or like the one JJ threw to Kirk.
