I believe the Broncos are going to struggle for several years because of the Wilson trade. Not sure changing coaches can fix their mess on offense.

Interestingly the Broncos interviewed our own KOC, gulp, prior to hiring Couldn’t Hackett…  :o

I've always believed that. I don't know about the timing with the coach, but I know Denver wanted Rodgers and it felt like a done deal....until it wasn't. It wasn't until Rodgers signed in Green Bay that Denver turned to Wilson.

Yup, now you're jarring this old memory. It did look like Rogers was potentially going to Denver this past off-season, like you said - until he didnt.

Report: Jerry Rosburg is Broncos interim head coachThe Broncos fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Monday and they’re reportedly named an interim head coach to see out the final two weeks of their season.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team has installed senior assistant coach Jerry Rosburg as the interim boss.
Rosburg was hired a couple of weeks into the season to assist Hackett in game management. The Broncos let the clock run down before trying a 64-yard field goal in a Week One loss to the Seahawks and the home crowd counted out the play clock in Week Two because the team was having trouble avoiding delay of game penalties.
The Broncos avoided making some of those mistakes over the next 13 games, but Hackett’s game management was never a strong suit and likely contributed to Monday’s decision to fire him before his first season in the job came to an end.
Rosburg has never been a head coach. His previous NFL experience came as a special teams coordinator, including a 2008-2018 run with the Ravens.

I remember the stuff about them wanting Rodgers but if that was their plan then they royally fucked up. I saw Rodgers using that as a power play

Doubtful. Rumor is Payton has already assembled his staff and Vic Fangio is the DC. And guy Payton is most fond of. For this to work Fangio would have to agree to return to the team that shit canned him less than a year ago for the guy they just shit canned. And in a demoted role.
