I think it's more so related to Blough being signed off our PS (Cardinals, I think?).
Mullens is a FA at the end of the season too I think, so it's not a lock he's with the team next season.
Wow, former top 10 pick. Can he be saved? Probably not. But that's a pretty good QB3 I would think.

He has bounced around. Was a high recruit at UCLA as I recall and then had some issues having a hot tub in his dorm room. Rumored to be a bit of an ass.
He was ridiculously arrogant at UCLA and coming into the NFL. I suspect the last few years have shocked the arrogance right out of him. The bigger risk is that he has no confidence left at this point. KOC could help there. He has talent. This seems like a zero risk move that could - but probably won't - pay off.
