Claypool to the Bears
Kind of surprising move but does actually make sense.
A good pickup for Chicago IMO but they still don't have a true #1 WR.
They basically traded Roquan Smith for Claypool. I do not like that trade for the Bears - but that does not consider how unhappy Roquan was with the Bears and how that affects the team. But as far as on field production, Smith > Claypool.
So glad Boles is in Chicago instead of Minneapolis.
Ryan Poles looks to be fumbling around in Chicago. His press conferences are terrible. I do like the two rookies on defense but it takes more than that to build a winning team, what an ass he was claiming they were going to win the NFCN .
Enjoying the Bears nose dive.
Schefter said Da Bears beat out the Packers in dealing for Claypool… B) B) B)

Ryan Poles literally passed on George Pickens with both of his 2022 2nd-round picks to trade a 2023 2nd for the guy that Pickens made irrelevant.

Steelers' reason why they preferred the Bears over the Packers to trade Chase ClaypoolA couple of weeks ago, when the trade rumors started, Chase Claypool's name orbited the Packers front office. The wide receiver was no longer comfortable in Pittsburgh, and they tried to get the best out of him with a move to another team.
After they were unable to sign Chase Claypool, it seems like free agency is the only way in which Aaron Rodgers will get a new wide receiver this year. Odell Beckham Jr. has been also linked to Green Bay lately and even the quarterback has addressed the possibility of signing the former Super Bowl champion this 2022.

Everyone expects GB to do better, but watch Claypool help the bears beat the packers...Aaron Rodgers has asked multiple times for more targets for him. Even though it seemed like his messages are lost somewhere in the Packers front office, they are not. The team made everything to get Chase Claypool, but it was not enough the offer they sent to the Steelers.According to Dov Kleiman, NFL insider, Green Bay offered a 2023 second-round pick for Claypool, the same offer the Bears made. Unfortunately for the Green and Gold, the Steelers believe that Chicago will have a better position in the next NFL Draft by ending with a worse record than the Packers this year and that's why they preferred them. This offseason NFC North WR events:
Packers need a WR and have pick 22 from the DeVonte trade which ends up being too low because 6 WR's go in the Top 18! The Packers clearly didn't like the remaining WR's and their first two picks are on Defense. Lions trade up with us at 12, and ahead of the Packers, to take Jameson Williamson who won't play until December. The Packers then trade up with us to nab the very raw speedy Troy Williamson oh I mean Christian Watson North Dakota State. Watson looks like a huge bust who can't catch and is hurt all the time.
Now the Bears step into the "keep a decent WR away from Aaron" game. The Steelers deal with the Bears ahead of the Packers ad trade them Claypool whom the Packers were pursuing more than any of the other WR's rumored.
This is fun to watch Aaron struggle so much and it won't be long where his passive-aggressive narcissism starts to break-through, and he blames everybody else for his failure to lift the team :)
But don't cry for Aaron he owns the Bears so he won't have to resort to begging on the frozen tundra street:)
Too early to be dancing on his grave you say?
I can't help it :)
