What was he fuming about? Didn't see it at the stadium cause frankly I wasn't watching him on the sideline. Plus I'm on the Vikings side of the stadium.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

He was yapping at Sean Payton about touches...when Payton turned around to see who would sass a head coach..AD glared at him as if to say "don't you know I'm purple Jesus" at which point Payton turned back around and thought to himself "3m for this prick?"

For the life of me I can't figure out why they picked him up to begin with. He doesn't fit their offense at all.

jersey sales,  short yardage guy.... only 3 million per year for a decent ball carrier.   maybe a better question would be why did AD pick them... oh yeah,  revenge.  i think that failure last night was my favorite part of the game... well, except for the win.

They really didn't give him much of a chance, not defending him of course.  But I think he's a step up from Ingram in the running game anyway.  The thing is, the Saints require their RB's to be decent pass catchers and AD does not qualify.

they also require them to read a blitz and be able to pick it up,  something else that AD hasnt shown proficient at.

Agreed.  As I posted on another thread, he's wasted in NO.  Not since their old "Thunder and Lightning" days have they used a back like AP.  Adrian better get used to it...unless they get up on teams where they can run out the clock, their defense will dictate Brees throwing a lot in the 4th quarter.  The Pukers or GMen could have used him more effectively.

exactly.  Loved that his whole season was a failure last night.

And Payton put him in his place, AD walked away unsatisfied after Payton must have told him to shut up.

He found a bag in his closet with a Saints logo on it, remember?? Divine providence...

I'm pretty sure a big reason is that there were no other team bags in that closet when he decided to sign there.

According to Peterson's twitter account (tongue in cheek) here's what he said:

Lip reading looks like he's sayin' "Orange Peanut?"

I want to know what the word before "Ass" is. Has to be dumb doesn't it? I wonder if Adrian didn't think he knew something that Payton didn't and was calling him a dumbass for not listening to him.

Listening to Mike & Mike this morning driving to work and they were discussing where the Aints should trade Pouterson.  Thought it was pretty funny, they were saying the same thing, he's a horrible fit for their offense.

I want to know what Payton said when he turned around.  can we get another camera angle on this thing?

or what was said leading up to this little clip.

I think they shot themselves in the foot in a way (not to take anything away from the Vikes, we kicked the shit outta them). Teams have gone on to these 2 headed RB offenses over the years, but they usually have complimentary skill-sets that work within the offense being run. The Saints almost looked like they didn't know which of 3 offenses they wanted to roll with. The Peterson running base offense, the Ingram "off balance" offense, or the Kamara passing base offense. They eventually needed to throw the ball around, and Kamara got the majority of touches.

I think the mindset was: Peterson is a better runner than Ingram, Kamara is quick and a better receiver than Ingram, but Ingram is on another level than both in regards to the playbook, schemes and system. They tried to run the ball with Peterson, they tried to keep us "honest" with Ingram, and then they heavily relied on Kamara when they needed to throw the ball the most.

That's a team with an identity issue (before they were a team with a 'getting their ass kicked' issue towards the end of the 2nd half), they don't know what and the hell they want to do or how to get it done. When a player has the ability to run like Peterson, and an ability to (not) pass block like Peterson, you know why he's coming out of the game. They spent their whole off-season kinda getting away from the Ingram based offense. They've tried to create something new, and they showed last night that they might have become just a mess of ideas that sounded great on paper.

Sean Payton gets lauded around the NFL as being a great coach; we'll see how he responds with his play-calling and the rotation at RB. Do they try and run a more classic Saints passing attack with Kamara killing it underneath (building off of the offensive "success"), or do they try and force the rotation into a winning formula?

Watch the video of Peterson after Payton told him to sit down and shut up.  He scowls and walks away.  Whatever Peterson said wasn't taken well by Payton.
