What?  ZImmer didnt want Mond?  color me shocked!!!

and in light of what we have learned since he has left... not enough arrows.  as a fan I am still pissed that Zimmer wasnt let go a lot sooner and equally pissed at Spielman and the Wilfs for letting it get that far.  Maybe its just because of my advancing years, but I dont have time for wasted efforts from this team any longer,  once a path has been proven to be the wrong one... get the fuck off it.  I think it was evident 2 years ago that the Zimmer tree just wasnt going to be fruit bearing.

It makes sense, it was one less defensive pick.

So what's the article actually say behind the paywall?

I wouldn't be surprised.  The Mond pick is a pick for a coach with a guaranteed future that can afford to wait for players to develop.  Zimmer was in put up or shut up mode.  I think we all knew Mond was sitting for a year or two, but how did his dad know that Zimmer didn't want him?

Mond looked rail thin when he came back from COVID. Good to see he's getting much more of a proper chance and look this year from the new regime.

You worry too much about facts.  This is a low hanging fruit article that will never be challenged.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/05/27/kellen-mond-coaching-change-good-for-me-theres-more-flavor-in-the-offense/

When Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was asked if he wanted to take a look at quarterback Kellen Mondin Week 18 after a brief mop-up appearance in Week 17, his answer of “not particularly” added to a list of comments he made over the year that suggested the coach wasn’t thrilled about the choice to add Mond in the third round of the 2021 draft.
Given that, Mond’s answer about whether he thinks the change to Kevin O’Connell as the team’s head coach will be good for him probably won’t come as much of a surprise.
“I think so,” Mond said, via Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. “I think Kevin, he’s obviously a young guy and he has some youth, especially with his offense. I think he’ll add a little bit more flavor. I think that’s something that the fans were missing a little bit last year.”

Mond said he never spoke to Zimmer after those late season comments and didn’t take offense to them before adding that it is “all fun and games” in a new year with a new coach. That coach had some positive things to say about Mond recently, so it’s hard to argue that the O’Connell era is shaping up to be a better one for the quarterback.

Zimmer was right, there were better players available that could have helped the team and Mond does not look like he will ever be more than a backup at best.

Did you come to the conclusion that Mond will never be more than a backup based on the few snaps he got against Green Bay?  Give the kid a break, he got dumped on by Zimmer the entire season and is now finally getting a chance to show what he has instead of the idea that Zimmer hated the pick therefore he is going in my doghouse.

He’s still unvaccinated, so all this could repeat itself, sigh…

Mond might stink but no one will ever be able to convince me that Mannion gave us a better chance to win @GB than Kellen. That was obvious before the game and even more clear after. Dumb.

Huh?  Aren't we past that failed logic by now?  Is the league still going to try an maintain 2 separate operating procedures in regard to covid despite the evidence not supporting the theory behind it?

What failed logic? He can contract covid again, lose body mass again & miss critical time in camp again… pretty much common sense.

And.... all that has been proven to happen to vaccinated people as well.  Hell for all we know he could have had adverse reactions to other vaccines in the past and made an informed decision.  I am done passing judgement on that mess.

I guess I don't really get your original comment.  His odds of getting covid are lower than most other players.  You should be much more worried about the players who got vaxxed, didn't get sick, but didn't/won't get boosted.

Hell I worry about them all, and the whole damn situation! What’s there to understand, I’m frustrated…
