All but two games were so close. No wonder last year seemed like an eternity

Dallas and Detroit were inexcusable losses, sealed the old regimes fate.

Horrible, frustrating year. The gap between roster talent and final result one of the biggest in my memory. At least since that late 80s team with Millard, Doleman, Hank, Browner, Lee, Zimmerman, McDaniel, Herschel, Carter, Jordan.

Nothing more needs to be said. It was f@#$ing brutal watching the Vikings piss away wins last year. I stopped watching after a point, it was so formulaic.

Agree that is was a frustrating year, but I think the perception of our roster talent was overblown.  Starting offense was loaded, but defensively we had a handful of good players and terrible depth.  Our LBs were not good when Barr and Kendricks missed time, our CB depth was terrible, and our DE depth was just as bad. Zimmer complained the last two seasons that our defensive depth wasn't good and it sure bore out as injuries piled up on that side of the ball.

Hopefully we can keep rebuilding depth on both sides of the ball.  The past couple Spielman drafts haven't really done that.  Hopefully Kwesi's first draft is the one that propels this roster forward under O'Connell.

Depth is depth for a reason. I don't think our depth was any worse than anyone else, even the Super Bowl winning Rams.

But just a reminder of what our DL was supposed to be: Hunter, Pierce, Dalvin, Griffen...with Sheldon Richardson in rotation, a 3rd rounder and three 4th rounders as depth.

The problem? Breeland was a bust, Dantzler took a step back, Hunter, Pierce, Griffen, Barr and Kendricks missed several games. As a result, our defense was horrible again.

But despite having one of the worst defenses in the NFL, 6 losses that could've gone either way. If even HALF of those went our way, this team is 11-6.

Really didn't matter because we weren't a playoff caliber team throughout the season.  Would have been one and done if we had won a couple of those close games.  Zimmer had clearly lost the team and especially the Defense.
