From another post;
The 2022 draft was the first in Vikings history where the team drafted three defensive backs in the first four rounds: Georgia safety Lewis Cine, Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. and Missouri corner Akayleb Evans.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Love it. I’m really excited about all 3 of those guys

WR wasnt the highest need going into this year and our WR Coach clearly got through on the GM with that.@"Hawkvike25" said: Love it. It's amazing to me that with a DB guru whisperer as a coach, that our secondary had gotten so bad that we needed to draft 3 DBs immediately after his tenure. Either Zimmer never was or he really declined in the past several years.
Us drafting a bunch of DBs to improve the secondary but doing it by gifting DET and GB WRs feels a lot like that meme where the guy jams a stick into his own bike wheel.
I like the guys we got and am hoping for the best. Hopefully KAM a genius and those WRs bust! Jameson especially didn’t look too thrilled to be going to Detroit.
It was also the highest we have taken a safety since Smith, I believe the highest we have taken a pure safety since Smith was the 5th/6th.
Hopefully they don't have to take more DBS in the 1st 3 rounds next year.

The #1 receiver in this draft, whoever that is, probably wouldn't help us much in 2022.@"purplefaithful" said:I get that and I think not drafting Jameson is why so many posters here are mad. @"Hawkvike25" said:Lol, no. Its not the player that we didn't take that had so many openly vocal against the move. It was first that they moved out of that spot with several players worthy of being taken there, Hamilton being 1 for sure. Then it was the fact that we traded out and didn't get at least fair value for that move, and lastly it was the fact that it was a division rival that was able to benefit from KAMs charitable action. The player Detroit took had little or nothing to do with most of the anger displayed.@"purplefaithful" said:I get that and I think not drafting Jameson is why so many posters here are mad. Exactly what this team needed most. Definitely thought DB would be two of our first three picks. Knew nothing about Evans before the draft but his profile is intriguing.

This right here had an impact on the draft. They are still having to do clean up from the previous regime. There are still financial implications that they sorting through.
If you haven’t listened to Lewis Cine’s post draft interview, you really need to.
Love this guy. He sounds like he really has his poop in a pile!

I am completely done making excuses for this team. The Wilf era for me has been incredibly forgetful all in all. From the triangle of authoriity, to all the orher bullshit moves. Ok we got a stadium built. But that would have happened with or without.
Here’s the thing if you are going to rock the boat and do shit differently than normal, you better fucking nail it. So with Kwesi, fine…. Do your weird draft strategy, but if it desn’y pay off, you are a daned fool waste g wveryone’s time once again.

I think most of us are here to some level. But the new regime deserves some time.... and they'll get it from the Wilfs as they are patient. Like I said, I agree with you and said as much the last few days: the draft was weird. But that doesn't mean it won't turn out to be very successful. Time will tell.
That's where I'm at as well Sticky...Gotta give the new team a chance.
I’m more sick of our fans than the team right now. It’s a constant rainy day in Vikings fandom. The Vikings do something 10% less than
optimal and we’ll make it seem like the earth is ending. Even the optimism was shaped from hatred
towards the past in the form of I hated the last guy so much that the new guy must
be perfect.
