Probably not what you want to say on a podcast right after your team allegedly said they want an "adult" at QB
QB Baker Mayfield says the Browns deceived him about their offseason plans, which resulted in them trading for Deshaun Watson: “I feel disrespected 100 percent because I was told one thing and they completely did another." https://t.co/DKSvVOisXZ

So will they release Mayfield or do you suppose he can be had for a not so significant draft pick?

I thought he would have been good to get back among other things if we had traded Cousins to the Browns this offseason. If he's healthy his game would have fit nicely with our existing weapons, and the other picks would have still allowed a hard move for next year to draft a qb of the future...but it wasn't meant to be.@"AGRforever" said:So will they release Mayfield or do you suppose he can be had for a not so significant draft pick?He has a pretty high dead cap amount so I dont know if that's an option. He did things early on for them that they hadn't had in 20 or 30 years, he played hurt and his play suffered and they turned on him quickly. He could handle it better, but I understand the hurt he has.
Am I the only one who could care less about Mayfield?

I'm quite sure that the Browns front office didn't keep Mayfield in the know about what they were doing.....which shows they really didn't give a shit what he thought. He's had quite the roller coaster ride in Cleveland. I don't think he's a bad kid, but he's cocky and has an ego without having really done anything. Maybe a little entitled is the better term.

I agree. He came in as a breath of fresh air and it seemed to have changed the swagger of the franchise. He has done his best to battle through injuries and I typically liked his fiery personality, but he hasn't learned that sometimes you just need to keep those thoughts in your head.

Very well said..I agree with all.So the perennial shitshow team in the AFC leaks that they want an "adult" at QB and that "adult" ends up being Watson - too funny.
I also think Mayfield has some more potential. Last year he played really banged up the whole year but the season before he put up a season that the shitshow team hadn't achieved in decades - 11-5 and back-to-back wins vs there nemesis Steelers. One win to end the season and another vs them again, division winning Steelers, in the first round They then lost in a close game to the Chiefs.
His reward from that shitshow team was to throw him under the bus along with dickhead Odell. He was injured I think in game 2 last year and struggled with that injury all season. Then this offseason the Browns front office throws him under. Of course, Mayfield could have handled it much better but I don't want to let the shitshow Browns franchise off the hook for the way they butchered up everything. Now onto Watson for the Brownies. I am not rooting for them or Watson even though they look pretty loaded right now :)
I am hoping Mayfield ends up in Carolina and plays well.

same here, i like the browns story, and it wasnt just mayfield that turned that franchise around, but considering where they were and where they went with the addition of Baker, it would be justice IMO if that team and its fans returned to the factory of sorrow days. I am kind of hoping that Watson ends up playing worse and the suck for a decade.
I dont blame Baker for being bitter...He opened himself up for criticism as to how he managed it publicly.
Some team will take a chance with him...Hopefully he rewards them and himself. I think he's been injured and his best days are still ahead.
