Are Tretter and Bates “still in play” for us?

Nothing is close, but shows they are in the market older OL still. As Chris Tomasson reported, resigning Patrick Peterson is a possibility. Re-signing Anthony Barr is unlikely now.
Flowers is interesting though. At tackle, was one of the biggest busts of the last decade, getting taken 9th overall by the Giants. He's since been on a number of teams and has improved almost every year, especially after getting moved to guard. Last year PFF graded him as WFT's best OL. Ridiculous he's only 27 considering how long he's been around. Late bloomer?

There's this false narrative with a bunch of Vikings bloggers that Minnesota is in the running for Tretter. Not sure why but that's where its coming from.Come on man!

I had mentioned to Tom they were in on Flowers. I don't think it is anything serious yet but knowing they're likely going to lose out on Bates he does seem like a good candidate to fill the RG spot considering he is only 27 to your point. He likely won't break the bank either. I'd still watch Billy Turner's name as well.

Pocic was a guy I loved coming out. C/G flexibility. Also played T in college.
Edit: Pocic has sucked ass since LSU and is unworthy of rekindling my man crush.
The Vikings made a contract offer to Buffalo restricted free-agent guard Ryan Bates, but a source said Thursday that he will sign an offer sheet with Chicago instead.
Bates visited the Vikings in Minnesota on March 17, then took visits to New England and Chicago this week. When he signs the offer sheet with the Bears, the Bills, who gave Bates a $2.433 million right-of-refusal tender, will have five days to match it. If they don’t match it, they would receive no compensation.
It is uncertain what the Vikings and Bears offered Bates and whether the Patriots also made an offer.
The Vikings were looking at Bates as a possible starting right guard in 2022. He has been mostly a reserve in his three seasons with Buffalo, but he did start four games in 2021, including the last three of the regular season due to injuries. He then also started the Bills’ two playoff games.
Chicago's new GM is a former OL who is credited with helping fix the Chiefs OL the last couple years through FA and draft. I'm sure that had an influence on Bates decision. Looks like we missed on a relatively cheap RG or at least quality competition.
I asked Bates if he was at all concerned going to a franchise that recently signed the human turnstile that is Dakota Dozier.
Now all Poles has to do is bring in Remmers & voilà… ;) new look OL completed!
Since switching positions to LG in 2019, he’s earned PFF pass blocking grades of 69.0, 73.8 and 78.1. Had a career-high 72.0 overall grade last season for the Commanders

Flowers has never played right guard in the NFL. That would be the concern because you would be moving him or Cleveland to the right side.
I think they should take a look at Will Hernandez.

I really liked Flowers coming out of Miami and was surprised how much he struggled out of the gate, but he seems to have settled in at guard and done well for himself. I think he would be an upgrade for us.
Another player who's gotten lost in the shuffle already in Miami is Austin Jackson, who the Dolphins just took in the first round out of USC a couple years ago. With the signings of Terron Armstead and Connor Williams, Jackson has been relegated to the backup at left guard behind Williams. I wonder if he'd be someone we'd be interested in kicking the tires on and see if Miami would want to move him for pennies on the dollar? 6'5"/325 and still only 22..
"Tretter was never truly healthy in his time with the Browns. Due to knee and ankle injuries, he basically never practiced during the season. He would simply come out and play every game without missing a snap, often doing a good job despite playing on one leg." He's 31.

Had exactly one week where he wasnt on the injury report. Most weeks it was DNP, DNP, LP. To his credit he missed only one start.
