The #Packers have agreed to terms with pass-rusher Preston Smith on a 4-year extension worth $52.5M in new money, source said. He gets over $65M over 5 years in all with a chance to make $71M. He gets $14M in year 1. So, one Smith brother sticks around.

According to
@TomSilverstein, Preston Smith’s extension frees up $8M of cap space for the #Packers, which bring them to about $35M over cap with 54 hours to go.
A Za’Darius Smith release opens up another $15M, but they’ll need the Rodgers extension on the books to get under.
Za'Darius Smith would be a fit here, but I'm guessing there are cheaper and younger options.
