Good move for the Chargers who now have the best QB's in the league in their own division to deal with. If Bosa, Mack, and Derwin James can stay healthy that defense has a chance to be really good.

Also count me as ecstatic if the Bears lose both Mack and Hicks in the same offseason.

Damn, how many picks have the Bears given up for Trubisky, Fields and Mack?

Fields: To jump up to No. 11, the Bears sent the New York Giants the 20th and 164th overall pick in 2021, as well as 2022 first- and fourth-round picks.

Trubby: The Bears traded the Nos. 3, 67 and 111 picks, as well as a 2018 third-round pick, to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the second overall pick.

Mack: The Bears gave up first-round picks in 2019 and 2020, a third-round pick in 2020 and a sixth-round pick in 2019 to acquire Mack

New regime in Chicago is getting younger and building around their young QB.

The Mack trade freed up around 24 million (I think) and around 84 million over the next 3 years of his contract with the Bears.
The Bears get a second rounder, which I think is 48 this draft.
They now have around 29 million in Cap space to reset and rebuild.

The old GM/HC were a cluster and I think these new guys Know that the roster with Mack (age 31 coming off major) and Hicks ( 32 - UFA only played in 9 games last year) were not making them a playoff caliber team.

Decent job so far - IMO.

Brilliant.
But it means absolutely nothing if that young QB can’t play in the NFL. Because this is what the last “new regime” said when they traded up to draft Mitch Trubisky. It’s also what the regime prior to that said when they drafted Rex Grossman. And the regime prior when they drafted Cade McNown. And the regime prior when they drafted Jim Harbaugh.
I'm sure they've got it right this time tho.

Way too early to say that. As MB said, it all depends if Fields pans out.....and they've been down this very road just recently with Trubisky.

1st QB taken that year; over Patrick Mahomes and Watson...

Can you imagine the North with Rogers and Mahomes in it?

I'm not sure about that...Mack is 31, Hunter is 27.

But DH would have teams wondering about the neck, no doubt.
