Pending Salary Guarantees

Wow, so much of what you do here is dictated by the defensive alignments/strategies.  I think Cook and O'Neill are safe.  Hunter, Pierce and Tomlinson are all questionable based on scheme fit, as much as anything else.  My call would be you keep Hunter -- pass rush is too important and injuries happen.  But is he who you want as an OLB in a 3-4?  How much 3-4 will we run?  How valued he is may be determined by the answer to those questions.  Is Pierce the NT you want in a 3-4?  Tomlinson was fairly mediocre, but what are your options?  Harrison Smith is a different question altogether.  How much do you value leadership and experience?  Judging by last year, he did not perform to his contract number, but if you are revamping a secondary, don't you want Harry back there coaching?  I would hate to see him go, but it reminds me a little of when Denny Green came in -- if memory serves one of his early moves was letting Joey Browner go...
