Boye Mafe
His ascension continues with an excellent showing at the combine yesterday. I definitely think he worked his way into the
end of the first round. I know I'm a homer as a Gopher Alum, but he would look great in the new Vikings 3/4 defense as an
Outside Linebacker. I was hoping he would be there with our 2nd round pick, but I don't see him falling that far.
I would not use a first round pick on the 6th or 7th best DE in the draft.

We will see how things shake out after the DB's test today, but I think there will be plenty of teams that will have no problem taking him in the late first round for a team that needs a Pass Rusher with the way he has tested at the Senior Bowl and the Combine.
While he played for the Gopher's I didn't hear a whole lot of people singing his praises throughout the last two years. Lets not forget, their play on the field has to be the first and last thing considered when looking at prospects.
That said, this draft is setting up as a lot of talent available in picks 8 thru 50. Lots of WRs, CBs, Edge, available. TEs from mid to late 2nd thru the 5th.
16 Wrs, 14 CBs, 16 ERs rated as top 100 prospects currently...

I'm looking at some top 100 player boards and there is some really good talent all the way into the lower portion of those rankings.

Agreed. There's about a half dozen players who are the cream of the crop in this draft class. The next 50 or so are on the same level depending on scheme fit.
Best Edge/End draft in my memory. It’s truly an incredible group. There are also a few defensive tackles right up there.
Personally, I’d be trying to get as many picks I can in the top two rounds. There are a lot of good (and super fast) players available this year. For me, it would be a year for moving up, not down.

I like McDuffie but he's a huge risk with really short arms. S: Hamilton.@"dadevike" said: I would not use a first round pick on the 6th or 7th best DE in the draft. It's nice to say we trade back, but that is not really in our control.

you can likely always trade back, you just not may get what you think you deserve for your efforts. you really have to be flexible in your ask and be willing to do a lot of your work late day 3.

Not sure if we can find a trade partner but it would be huge to move down and add a pick or two.Personally, I’d be trying to get as many picks I can in the top two rounds.
