LET'S GO KWESI!
His background is in research/development/analytics, but learned contract negotiations and the scouting world with the Browns.
Man, if it's Ryans...
Perhaps the smartest thing Berry and Adofo-Mensah have done since taking over is slow-playing a Baker Mayfield contract extension. When the Bills gave Josh Allen the second-richest contract in NFL history prior to the 2021 season, many thought Mayfield was next.
But the Browns were wary of paying a top-of-the-market wage to a good-but-not-great player. Mayfield went on to have a terrible 2021 (thanks in large part to significant injuries), and now the Browns owe him just $18.9 million next year. Then, they can walk away if his performance doesn’t improve. Quarterback aside, the Browns have one of the most talented rosters in football and were much better than their 8-9 record.
What they’re saying about Adofo-Mensah“I will tell you that I am incredibly excited and proud of both Kwesi and Glenn for having the opportunity to interview for one of the 31 other franchises. Of course, we will always grant requests. Again, in fairness, not that it is our choice to deny it, but regardless, we are thrilled when we have people from our organization who have the chance to interview for one of these opportunities. I know those guys will represent themselves well. Any owner who is looking to hire a general manager, those guys will do a phenomenal job. I am just glad they are interviewing for an NFC team so that I can root for them if they get it.” — Browns general manager Andrew Berry on Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
40 years old?
He looks like he’s 25. (Or maybe I’m just old)
But I’m ok with that. Look forward to our first Super Bowl win.
They are working diligently to add Catherine Raiche as the Assistant General Manager as well, per source.
Heads will be exploding...

No, we're just old. I thought the same thing.
Tomasson doing Tomasson things.
Next he'll try and get his GPA.

I thought he was going to bring her on board. Let the heads explode.

Good for them. Best of luck to both of them, you just have to win. That'll shut the naysayers up.
Our new GM was born on a Sunday. #Skol

OMG this guy is such a puke. While he’s at it he may as well call his parents and find out if he’s ever played hockey or water polo and if he was JV for those too.

Goodell, Stephen A Smith, and every pundit on ESPN will absolutely shit themselves in inclusive ecstacy if this were the case. Talk about doubling down on a gamble though. I just want to win, and if they do, I'll say I was wrong and salute the hires. If this blows up, then the Wilfs deserve to be skewered relentlessly for hiring two people with such limited football backgrounds to run their organization. Let's see how this plays out starting with this off-season, which should be an interesting one with a lot of big decisions
It will be interesting to see how the new regime judges the players from the last few drafts who made the team but never saw the field (like Mond). It is really unfortunate that the Vikes did not play the last game like a preseason game to get some film on these players. Usually a new regime feels no loyalty to past draft picks but I hope they give these players a serious opportunity to show what they have.

Same with every draft choice. Everyone, including the decision makers who hire, will be scrutinized for whether their choices pan out or not. Why would this be any different?

Well, you could look at it this way -- if you believe the NFL manipulates the league and plays favorites, making Goodell and the league office happy and wanting the Vikings to succeed (finally) would be a good thing.

Agreed, but this is a huge out of the box hire based on backgrounds and experience...so if this blows up, the Wilfs should be scrutinized at a higher level. I don't believe he was the most qualified person for the job and I certainly won't be alone in that assesment. To me it's in the same wheelhouse as the Raiders bringing in Mayock as their GM a couple years ago. I hope it works. All we can do is sit back and watch this thing unfold

Lol. But doesn't he have to play football.
Seems a bit odd to be throwing shade on a new hire before the ink is even dry on the contract, even for long suffering Vikings fans. It was time for a new direction. This is it. Risky but at the same time, exciting. I will wait to see results before making a judgment, and support the Wilf's decision until then.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah (2020): "I know what it takes to win and I'll never back down from that. It takes talent to win in this league, it takes great coaching, it takes great development. You need an aggressive mindset to win on the margins in every facet of football operations." pic.twitter.com/54dSaYmM9E
