When the Texans hired David Culley, they only guaranteed him two years of money; they knew there always was the real chance he would be one and done. As one league source texted about his one-year tenure, “I knew it when he was hired.”

Don't like or understand firing him. I suppose it's another example as to why that organization sucks

Winning 4 games with that roster? Man, give him another year minimum.

Especially when it's now being reported that he's owed $17MM over the next 3 years. What a dumb organization

Jags and Texans are just toxic. Superfund level.

Add Jets, WFT, MIA, possibly LAC to that list.

Good for him -- 22 million for a year managing a dumpster fire.  Billionaires can afford to spread the wealth a bit.

PTI mentioned that with Flores and Culley getting axed, there is now only 1 black head coach left in the NFL.   I know I'm risking taking this thread off the rails, but in 2022 only 1 out of 24 currently employed head coaches being black is just ridiculous.

Mills averaged over 250 yards passing the last 5 games. They scored almost 26 PPG over the last 4 games, going 2-2. Before their bye then went 7/9 games with scoring single digits. Sorry improving is good?

Imagine if they had played the Vikings.  The statistics could have been rewritten.

I am most surprised by Flores being let go but reports were that he doesn't get along with the GM and isn't really behind Tua.  Also, apparently, he is even gruffier then Zimmer.

Culley doesn't surprise me because it is such a horribly run organization.

Last year, I was surprised that Anthong Lynn (Chargers) was let go after a 7-9 year with the rookie Herbert.  He was then hired by Lions as OC and just let go of that position a few days ago.  Surprised his name is not being mentioned for "any" HC jobs.  I wouldn't mind taking a closer look at him.

I wouldn't be against Culley becoming OC for the Vikings.

Culley got hosed. The Texans front office is dysfunctional.
