Zygi, Put This Guy On Your List
Ehh he'll be 67 in July. Not sure we want to replace Zimmer with someone older
Well, the doufuses at SKOR want to give Pete Carroll a shot at 75...so, Caldwell is a spring chicken in comparison.

I’m putting in my plug for Kubes JR if Zim is not retained. He has the pedigree, He meets the young fresh mind- innovative?? not sure but he has embraced a few new wrinkles recently. I would like to see more pre snap motion ala Shanahans O in SFO but Kubes is coming along.
Whatever happens Kubes needs to be retained, unless we go with a Moore or Leftwich and let them choose their own OC

It's really hard to fathom just how much credit/blame Kubiak should get for our offense's successes/failures. But I do think he has a big upside as a head coach.
If that running game we saw against Pittsburgh continues, he might become a name to consider...and not just for the Vikings.
One thing I haven't heard anyone talk about is continuity. If we fire Zim and bring in an offensive guy, Kubiak is gone, meaning the offense Cousins has been running the last 4 years will be different, meaning he could be less effective (or not a fit), meaning he could be traded...
Seems crazy to "rebuild" one of the youngest and most talented rosters in the NFL. Start over with a new HC, offense, QB? Just as the OL is rounding into shape, with superstars like Cook, Jefferson, Thielen, Hunter, Kendricks, Harry on the roster? Just sounds so incredibly stupid to me. But we'll see what happens...
Maybe hiring Kubiak isn't such a bad idea.

Why do you think he has a big upside as a HC?I think Klint is in way over his head this season and you can pin a lot of the inconsistencies of our offense on him and his playcalling. We've had some downright awful stretches of offense this season. Sure, we ran the ball great against the Steelers, but what about the week before when our offense could only muster 6 points against the Lions in an entire half of football?
He isn't Stefanski. I would clean house after the season.

Several factors in play here. First, Kubes O is #3 in yards. Thats damn impressive.
Second, all the rage are young productive innovative OC’s. Now im not sure about the innovative part as I mentioned, but his recent heavy sets, that running game against the Steelers with the zone and gap switches showed some creativity.
3rd, we owe KC 45 next year and thats not an easy contract to separate from, so continuity in this offense stands to be a much more reasonable approach than a blow up.
Im thinking more and more that KC and Zimmer and Kubes all end up back, with KC on an extension, Zimmer on a short leash and Kubes waiting in the wings.

Stefanski isnt Stefanski. I like Kubiaks upside because if who is father is. Klint has been eating and breathing offensive strategy since puberty.i dont see “in over his head” at all. Name a team who hasnt had bad offensive stretches.

From @gmfb Weekend: I spoke to a refreshed, rejuvenated Doug Pederson the other day. The former #Eagles HC says a year away from the game has helped him hit the reset button personally and professionally as he readies for another opportunity. pic.twitter.com/YHSNlbkxs0

I like Doug Pederson. I hope they at least interview the guy. I think the team was one dropped pass in the end zone by the Pittsburgh TE away from having Z fired.

Take advantage of the new rules. Hackett is the first current guy I interview.

I will have a full on, toddler like temper tantrum meltdown if this happens. Please no.

8 years. We've come full circle back to a Frazier caliber D. It's time.

Agreed...The fact that this isnt coming up much elsewhere and the Wilf's are mum?Not sure if that silence is deafening or not.

Kahn didn't say much until Urban skipped the flight home from Cincy. It's just not how things are handled. Hell, Zygi is practically allergic to the spotlight.
Mort just on NFL Countdown talking about the Urban situation and how it might steer teams away from going with first time coaches from the college ranks. However, said teams would likely have high interest in college coaches with prior NFL experience like OSU's Ryan Day or Stanford's David Shaw.
