We Don't Win Tonight-Addendum
And I'm ok with that.
Another nail in Zim's coffin.
Better draft position (not that draft position is a panacea)
I'm starting to lean towards axing Rick too (never returned my calls) based on the lack of impact of Pierce and Tomlinson, the trade for Herndon, and other past foibles.
That's it.
I'm dead inside until we reboot this staff.
We win tonight. That's not me being optimistic, we just win enough games to screw us out of a good draft pick.

I understand a player wants to play, but there should be somebody looking out for whats left of his career. It could be competitiveness or desire to help his team. It might not be the best idea if he rushes back. I suppose he prefers to play instead of sitting on the sidelines if he is good to go. He has had multiple shoulder issues which should be a concern.
Why is this game so important to Mike Zimmer? We believe that if he loses, he is relieved of his duties during the long break between games. If he wins, he is allowed to finish the season. It just makes sense.

Sounds right. PF I know you've been staunchly saying Zim will get the full year and by rights he should but that's not in the best interest of this franchise. If things go pear-shaped tonight and the US Bank crowd turns on the team, I can't see the Wilfs excited about the prospect of running things back with this staff in two weeks at home versus a good Rams team. That's a recipe for disaster.
The latest trend is lose 2 win 2, this is win week…! :p

I think this is what has to happen for Zim to get the axe before end of year. Yet another game where obvious sideline errors causes the Vikings to lose the crowd and the game, maybe even the team.

This is why you're done. Cannot get the team to consistently play to it's ability.
Bye, Zim. Enjoy your fertile fields in KY.

I don't think I've ever seen a Viking team look so dominant in games against good teams like Carolina, Green Bay, Baltimore, San Diego, Pittsburgh... and look so pathetic in those same games.
29-0 late in the 3rd quarter. Totally dominating performance on both sides of the ball. And the game comes down to the final play? AGAIN!??
Obviously, this is not a talent issue. This is a head issue. Coach sets the head.

I've waffled back to Rick stays. Definitely not a talent issue.
@JustinTime18™ I've waffled back to Rick stays. Definitely not a talent issue.Well, no need for me to weigh in on that one. I've said it before and I'll say it a hundred more times: firing Rick would be the biggest mistake this franchise has made since the Walker trade.
Focus on the PROBLEM. And it ain't the GM. In fact, it's exactly because Zimmer has been given everything he could possibly want that his performance stands out as a failure.

I was going to post the exact same thing...I cant remember a Viking team so streaky in two halves of football so often during the season.Ever.
This isn't just a head issue, but the opposing coaches playing better chess than our staff.
Back in my day Zimmer’s defense would give up some points in the first quarter then settle in, make adjustments, and start to control the game. Recent seasons it’s been almost exactly the opposite. I don’t know why that is but you know it’s bad when we’re up 29 points and the lead doesn’t feel safe.
