Listen, just say your opinion....but don't say 'nothing against Trey, but'....it silly. Everyone knows what you mean and you can say whatever you like. If you think Jones was a better option, just say it without the qualifiers. Yes, its a slight on Trey Lance but if that's how you feel and you choose to vocalize it, own it.
We'll see how well that comment holds up three years from now.
People need to just stop making final judgement on a QB based on their first few games as a pro. As if there's not enough history to render those judgements foolish.
Winston, Mariota, Wentz, Goff, RGIII, Sanchez, Trubisky all looked pretty good early. You know who looked bad? Tannehill, Josh Allen, Drew Brees. Rodgers and Mahomes didn't even play their rookie seasons.
So much of what a rookie QB does early is based not on his overall talent, but on his readiness to play in the NFL. And we already knew Jones was, by far, the most NFL-ready QB in that class. Still, everyone heaps raves on him.

Totally. I agree with everything you've said, I just hate when somebody decided to talk to a reporter about something that is basically putting down a person yet says, 'nothing against Trey'. lol. Yeah, of course you have something against Trey because you just said the 49ers took the wrong QB. I'd rather people were like Charles Barkley and say what you mean and mean what you say in public. Or keep your mouth shut to start with.
