Herndon Trade Looking Stellar
I said it was a terrible trade... Conklin was our Irv insurance if he got hurt. Plus we had Zylstra, Dillon, and Davidson. I don't know why we kept all those guys around (and drafted Davidson) if we weren't going to rely on them for depth. Waste of a 4th round pick.

And you wonder why I want both him and Zim gone
It will look better in the coming weeks. 4th round pick better? Maybe not.
It's hard to tell with Zimmer --Herndon could be the best TE on the roster and still not be getting playing time and it would simply be business as usual with Zimmer. The holding call on him against the Kitties was BS. But, I tend to agree. If the Panthers can pick up Gilmore for a 6th, why on earth would we need to give up a 4th for Herndon?

fixed it for you. ;)
Picking up TE depth wasn't a bad idea, but I don't understand why they traded away a 4th for him. Hopefully, things improve as the season wears on, but he's had a rough start.
Is Herndon an asset that could be traded for a descent D Back? Seems like that be more valuable to us right now.
Our TE depth certainly needed something. We basically have Conklin and a raw rookie. Hopefully Herndon gets acclimated as the season goes on, he came over right before the season started, so he was way behind.
Conklin has struggled mightily. Not just whiffing on attempt at catching passes, but he’s been really bad on blocking assignments. He’s a huge step down from Rudy or Smith. So I liked bringing in Herndon, but for anything more than a 6th or 7th was insane. Rick is straight up an idiot for that trade.
Zach Ertz to Arizona for a CB and a 5th round pick in 2022.
I think a lot of the discussion we’re having here is coming
from the context that we’re getting quality production from our depth
receivers. Historically, we have seen
more of a 2 WR and 2 TE/FB type of a scheme.
I think if KJ Osborne would have underwhelmed, we’d have a greater need from
our TE2 position, but that gap is being filled by WR3.
Zach Ertz for a 5th plus a CB
Herndon for a 4th
Herndon was worth no more than a 7th, Rick gets hosed again
To date Conklin is the only TE w/ receptions this season… :o
Let’s not forget the coveted 6th pick Trader Rick got in return w/ Herndon… :s
I am not so sure that Ertz would have considered us in the first place, so...
Still disappointed in Herndons start here for sure.
Q: what does Herndon and Cris Carter have in common?
