Second hardest schedule to date. Reason for optimism?
We've played the second toughest schedule in the league so far and should be 3-1 if two plays go our way. However, there are no gimmes the rest of the way so we need to ramp up the urgency if the season is to be salvaged. I've been a Zimmer supporter, but he's got to get this team firing on all cylinders and now.

I heard it said today, anything less than a 5-1 division record likely keeps us out of the playoffs... seems reasonable considering our division is fairly weak and we may need to win the division to get into the playoffs with as strong as the NFC west looks.

That & a 7-1 home record & we’re in like Flynn… ;) B)

I think we can still be optomistic. Problem is, good teams find ways to win close games. We havent done that, quite the opposite actually.
We can be good, perhaps REALLY good. I hope it happens but things will have to change fast and our recent history says it wont happen.
Its an interesting statistic - the difficulty of games that is.
I dont know, I feel like I've been down this road before. This road called mediocrity.
They'll win a difficult game or 2, usually beat the weaker teams. Split with GB/Bears.
I sure dont sense any magic this year though. Not yet.
They really needed to get lucky and win one of the first 2.
Yawn...
Best 1 -3 team in history.
The parade is scheduled for Monday 10/11 at whatever time is the worst for you. Balloons (if we have helium), floats, creepy clowns, covid 19 tents
time to celebrate, come on!
I've been listening to these rationalizations for 20 years or more. Prior to social media you rarely ever heard this stuff, it wouldn't fly. You are/were what your record says you are/were as Bill Parcells would say.
But nowadays social media functions as a sort of perpetual b.s. factory where every imagined possible reality is aired out for it's 15 seconds of fame over and over. The possible is continually conflated with the probable to make things that aren't seem like they are. Is it possible this is a reeeallly good team that will go on a tear and make the rest of the league tremble before it's might? Sure. Is it probable? Not in the least.

I feel like they have been on the mediocrity road since 2010, other than a brief spurt in 2017. Getting very malaise. Gave up my season tickets right after the 2019 season as it will take a regime change to get me excited again.
"you are what your record says you are"
-- Bill Parcells
-- Mike Zimmer, BP acolyte, should not disagree
We're 1-3.
We're now in the fall of our season of discontent.
We need 6 stacked W's. Tall order.
Im not pointing fingers, but rationalizing 1-3 is a totally cheese head thing to do. What's next, we going to talk about our 1 nfl championship, or 4 superbowl appearances?
We have been beat down so many times we are conditioned to try and make silk purses from sows ears pretty much every season, its become our thing and it's really sad way to be.
Another .500 season or 1 and done in the playoffs and I'm ready to move on. Let Zimm spend more time on the ranch.
I think the worst thing that could happen is they finish with 8 or 9 wins. Wilfs may be hesitant to rock a mediocre ship.
OTOH, not sure where I see another 8 wins in the remaining schedule. I see 5 or 6 wins left on the board:

Same here. I can't be like the majority of folks and already call the season a wash after 4 games. Give me a few more games before I start calling for heads and declaring the season & this regime over.
I'll be damned if I don't find some glimmer of hope before going to my first game at the Bank.
I guess I don’t get the need for pessimism. It doesn’t seem like something I want to fill
my head with, especially this early in the season. Realistically though, I think we should win
most of the rest of the games at home, the Rams game sticks out as being the
only one that looks unlikely, and I think most of the away games look like
losses to me. Probably end up around
8-9.

I was just looking at the remaining schedule and landed on 8-9 as well.
I think we’ll win the next two and get to .500, but then the next four look really tough. End of the year things lighten up a bit and we’ll claw back to around .500.
If it plays out like this I do think heads will roll, as they should.
I’m going with 4-3 after the next 3. See where things stand Nov 1
I hate this schedule. Been saying it for probably 20 years and said it again at the beginning of the year: I would rather have a schedule full of traditionally strong teams than one full of up-and-comers. Teams like Seattle and Baltimore and PIttsburgh and Dallas and KC don't scare me nearly as much as rising teams like the Bengals, the Browns, the Cardinals and the Panthers. And the Vikings will have played four of them in the first six weeks.

I think MIN will win because DET is definitely one of the more beatable teams, but if the Vikings for whatever reason can’t win this game, then it’s time to sound every last alarm.
