Should Vikings Bench Cousins?
OK, so I'm not going to give them the traffic they so badly want with this ridiculous clickbait, but there is a site that suggests the Vikings could bench Kirk Cousins this weekend.
“If Minnesota gets off to a rough start then their fans are going to serenade Cousins with boos. That’s all Zimmer will need to hand the ball over to rookie Kellen Mond.”
Never mind Cousins is one of only two QBs to have at least 5 TDs and 0 INTs this season. Never mind that Cousins currently has the longest active streak in the NFL without an INT. Never mind that Cousins' current 16 game stretch of 90+ passer rating is the 2nd in NFL history. Never mind that Kellen Mond is not the backup QB, or even active.
I know, not even worth posting about. I only mention it to show how whack the anti-Cousins camp can be.

I have to say I have noticed a substantial decline in the quality of the Vikings blogger content over the past years or so. But it is not only the novice bloggers, a couple of weeks ago Peter King described the Bengals 4th down pass play against the Vikings and said the Xavier Rhodes lost the TE in coverage. He quickly repaired the error when I pointed it out in a comment (and he erased my comment). The Blogosphere is really going downhill -- articles are posted without any fact checking, clickbait and just poor actual knowledge.
Now, if the Vikings do a clean sweep of coaches and management after this year, I would bench Cousins next year, start Mond to see what he has and just let the team lose games while the new coaches assess the 3rd-7th round talent accumulated by Spielman over the last couple of years.
