Tiny's Fall From Grace Complete

Vikings declared QB Kellen Mond, CB Cameron Dantzler, LB Anthony Barr, T Christian Darrisaw, TE Ben Ellefson, DT James Lynch, and DE Patrick Jones inactive for Week 1 against the Bengals.

Maybe inactive will light a fire under Dantzler, hopefully, but probably not...

I swear if I have to watch Mannion start a game for this team this year…

I thought McNabb would forever be my most hated Viking but a couple Mannion starts could change my mind.

Dantzler aint a #1, but the situation makes me think back to this teams #1 picks the last # of years:

Waynes  
Treadwell 
Hughes
Bradbury
Jet
Gladney
Darrisaw

That's not a great take rate?? Not sure how it compares to rest of league. 

2 of the last 7 #1 picks will contribute to the Vikings team taking the field today. 

It sucks but maybe he rebounds and has a wake up call. Maybe someone else steps up and has success this season. Barr is a concern but we'll see what happens there. Darrisaw sucks.

I heard this, but I think they went elsewhere. The Dantzler thing is a real mystery. 

  Apparently the Vikings told the 49ers they weren't interested in trading him.

I can't imagine that Dantzler would've played worse than Breeland on Sunday.

We have 2 castoffs from other teams (Breeland, 31 year old Patrick Peterson) starting at corner....and a FA (Woods at safety). Where did our drafting go wrong for this to happen? Its a legit question.

it's a bad deal if an NFL team plays out an entire 16 game NFL season and is unable to identify and  develop 1 player on defense as a starter.

Dantzler isn't playing on game day and Wonnum is a back up.

Add the First round whiffs and this franchise has some tough years coming their way.

Yes, the answer is obvious. But the buck stops with the GM on this. And now Weatherly is going to start? After being let go and then resigned by Minnesota? Wonnum looked overmatched. Barr is back, but not on the field. Offensive line looked offensive. 

Its one game. The NFL is a week to week league. I'm not bringing out the sledgehammer yet, I'll even give it 4 games. We'll know then.
