He was 26th among tackles in pass block win rate.
I did not know that, that is pretty fuggin impressive. MB... did you know that?
Wow, I'm a huge fan of drafting well and keeping the players you draft. Griffen, Hunter, Smith, Barr, Kendricks, Thielen...and now O'Neill. This is good news. But I agree with those who think it's a little high. I think BO is a top half tackle and a top third RT. Now he's getting paid like a top two tackle. But that's the market. It goes up with every contract and if that's what the market is, that's what the market is. It's far more important to...well, just read the first sentence. The Lions could learn a lot.

I did not know that. I knew that, like most of our linemen, he was a better run blocker than pass blocker, but 1st among ALL NFL linemen in run block wins? That's something I'm sure his agent used to get him his money. Someone should let PFF in on that.

that was my first thought... to high, but until I see the structure I am reserving judgement since there will be the brinks truck coming in 2 years. So as long as it isnt front loaded it likely wont hurt to much in the way of us doing things down the road... of course his agent will want a new deal in 3 years when the guaranteed money is gone so...
It is a commitment to a rising star who has been a great find and shown great development.
With the cheap rookie contracts of everyone else on the line. They can show some extra love right now.
He seems like the sort of guy who will refuse to let them down. Great resign and a lot of potential to come
Good for him.
The Vikings long-term plan at OL is very intriguing...

Wow, someone in the national media actually cares to notice. Now, Mike, go look at the line the Packers will be starting on Sunday.
Glad we got him tied up but this a tad rich. But, like most contracts, within a year it will look more reasonable.

No no no. Don't teach the Lions anything. Its nice getting to play them twice a year.

Here is a question to ponder: between Harrison Smith's and Brian O'Neill's extensions, which one do you think is the most "too rich"?
Also, I would guess that the future Oline is not Darrisaw/Cleveland/Bradbury/Davis/O'Neill but Darrisaw/Cleveland/Davis/Udoh/O'Neill.

Why does everyone think Davis can play center? Has he done it at any level? I'm seriously asking....
I'd be surprised if Minnesota resigns Bradbury. But I'm still not sure if Bradbury just isn't a fan favorite because he's smaller or if the team really thinks he might be a liability. The team might love him. Proof will be in the next contract....or lack thereof. I can tell you he's not going anywhere next year: his dead cap money would be $4.1 million in 2022.
Ryan Ramczyk .226%
Jack Conklin .412%
Taylor Moton .313%
Lane Johnson .329%
Braden Smith .349%
Mike McGlinchey .513%
La'el Collins .482%
Rob Havenstein .388%
Daryl Williams .772%

This year is key for Bradbury. He has to improve his pass blocking by leaps and bounds in order to get his 5th year option. Centers make the biggest leap in their development in year 3, and this is his third year, so we'll see. I can see him improving, but he might still be the weak link among those three IOLs (at least in pass pro). Honestly, I have a hunch Cleveland and Udoh will be the stars of the line.Vikings obviously want to get bigger on the line. Davis is a little bigger than Bradbury. He hasn't played center that I'm aware of (until camp) but he's a little bigger than Bradbury and he seems to have a better anchor.
Meanwhile, in green bay
"No. No chance."

I could see that, but maybe Cleveland moves to C with Udoh and Davis as Gs. Hopefully Bradbury proves us wrong and starts playing like we all hoped and expected.
If Oli and Cleveland can establish themselves as quality to good NFL starters at G then this year will be a red shirt year for Davis digging into the calls, plays, rtc for the C position.
if he can have the mental appititude that Bradburry does, his strength should give him a starting spot next year IF GB doesnt that crucial next step.
I am disappointed in our center play but we have equipped him some of thr worst guard play on record for a contending team.
This year, there are no excuses. Same for his QB
